Kathryn, I didn't mean to malign all the English. Just the one hacker. I did call the police. They said there wasn't anything they could do for now. If they somehow got anything they could use to clean out our checking account or run up charges in my name, they will give me a report to send to the bank and/or credit card companies. Mainly right now, it's just a pain in the butt!

Rebecca have you tried contacting the state attorney general? Give that a shot. I know there are laws about those kind of scams but I'm not sure whose jurisdiction they are in. We had some problems with my 92 yr old father in law getting scams in the mail and had to report everything to the postmaster general. And don't believe that about England - I've been there twice and the Brits are a great bunch. Now the French... that is an entirely different story. lol
Anyway good luck and make sure you put your bank on alert too.

Monica- curse sounds awesome! They sent the faux letter to my husband's e-mail. I sent one back to them asking how I could help. They sent back an address to wire the money to. I called the police and gave them hard copies of the e-mails. They said they really couldn't do anything about it, but that if my bank accounts came up empty I should call them and they would be able to give me a copy of the report so we wouldn't be responsible for it. UGH! Not how I wanted to spend my Friday. Would you believe in one of the notes they sent me, they actually said that England was full of mean and hateful people. I guess I'd have to agree.

Awesome, Tatiana, thanks! I will. If you can vouch for it, I will give it a try. You just never know about a recipe if it is not something you're used to eating. I thought I'd make it for my employer-she loves pumpkin so I thought she might enjoy trying this. Gotta earn that xmas bonus, ya know! Later.

Rebecca- I know a little curse I can throw on that person I learned from my Hupa-Indian stepmother...I'll go get the chicken feathers and dock root, but you'll have to wait til the dark of the moon. :-)

Kathryn-NO WAY! I looked at your page, I bet you still get carded! My double was in June.

While I'm here, does anyone with connections to the south have a good recipe for sweet potato pie? I mean the traditional kind, not the nouveau-cuisine kind. I have my great-gram's crust recipe so I'm good there, but I need the filling part.

I'm kinda worried about our apt. in VA beach (i'm out of town at the moment) i tried calling my landlady to see if everything is fine (especially with what's going on) but it keeps going straight to voicemail. worse part is my apt is on the ground floor. yikes.

Hope everyone is hanging in there and doing fine :(
