I meant to say won't you know it as soon as we left the grandparents' house to go home, Hans called their house and we missed him. He didn't have time to call us he had to go back to Great Lakes.

Marianne, Hopefully KT will call you this weekend. I know exactly how your feel. Last year I kept expecting Hans to call us from boot camp on Christmas. He was adopted out by a church so I knew he could call. We were at his grandparents' house all day long and no call. We went home early in the evening because I thought he would call us there. Won't you know it, as soon as we left the grandparents' home he called. I was so upset because I had missed his initial I'm here call when he first arrived at boot camp because he didn't know how to use the calling card, then a few days later when they allowed him to call again I didn't have my cell phone as I had misplaced it. So later when I found it I saw I had a message from him. Another time I found a message on my phone when he called while I was at church. All that was in his first few weeks of boot camp. Fortunately a few days after Christmas he called and we all had a long conversation with him.

I wanted to just cry today. We got up this AM and went to church and then headed north about 75 miles to my Mom's for Thanksgiving. After dinner and devotions I turned my cell phone on. Katie had called at 9:57 AM (3 minutes before church began and I didn't have my cell phone on at all). Katie had tried to call her sister's cell (not on either) and then called home and then me. Not only did I miss the call, but when I went to save the message so her sister and brothers could listen, it ended up erasing it.

At least I know that she had a nice time with her friends at their Thanksgiving dinner. Maybe she'll get a chance to call again this weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I will be lighting a candle ,saying a prayer & thinking of all our sailors @4 today. I think of them all the time anyway,take care

I have a suggestion for a possible Christmas gift for our sailors . I got a Hickory Farms brochure yesterday and it shows that they will mail some of their packages free to APO/FPO addresses.

I mailed out Pakes Christmas gifts and it was a total of three boxes and I had to fill a coustom form for each box.
