Hah, Jake isn't disciplined with his money either! Is Rob still cranking?

Thanks Jodi. I agree and believe me - I had my say about it tis sure. He still gets flack from the galley crew but, that's to be expected. Live and learn. Emphasis onb the LIVE part. Good for Jake - how's he like it? Rob isn't very disciplined with money, so I hope he stays on the ship.

Well, I just read thru the older posts & saw what happened to Rob. OMG What a horrible experience. He should not have been alone! Jake is now in an apt. I pray he is being safe but you never know with these kids!

Ah Cindy, that is so tough when they are down.

I talked to Rob tonight and he just sems so depressed. I encouraged him to go to church, hang out with up beat people, and talk to the Chaplin. He feels his Chief really doesn't care about them - that's a shame. These kids still need someone who cares about them. Yes, they need to grow up but, they should be able to have both. I'd better write more! I'm going to e-mail my friends and family and have them cheer him up. News from home is always an inspiration. I think he is homesick a wee bit and feeling the sting of it. I told him to remember the funk is temporary. We still gotta be Moms right!

Does anyone else have their sailors on TAD orders to another ship in the coming month? Mine has TAD orders to the Truman for a total of 2 weeks.

My Aidan is home visitng right now. Isn't it great to see our kids and see the incredibly positive changes? I love it! Yesterday was his birthday and his two year anniversary in the Navy--I know--he left for the Navy on his birthday. And this is the first time we have seen him since the commissioning. I gather that he wishes they could get out of the shipyards. I think being there in that industrial (and dangerous) and thug-infested environment adds an element of stress that they may sense in a subtle way, but not realize is affecting them.

Hi Ladies,
Cindy, I am glad Rob is ok! Wow...thank God!
I can't remember the last time I commented with any news...not even sure if I told anyone that Killian got to come home for a couple of weeks at the end of June, but anyway...I have been reading your posts every now and then.
I am going to be taking a break from here for a while. Killian got a temporary transfer to the Nimitz! He is so excited!
Yesterday he and some of the other sailors were flown to San Diego. He said he felt so close to home...haha! He saw an Ak Airlines jet and it made him smile :o)
I will check in every now and then....I love to read the chit chat! Easy on the drinks while I'm gone ;o)
Oh ya...welcome all new Moms!!

Thanks for the comments moms. Brian got in touch with me yesterday and told me he went to work and talked to security and filled out a statement, and he will probably talk to the Captain tomorrow (sigh) He was with his LPO going to get his car. I told him that was a very good thing to do, just be up front and honest, as they will find out anyway so better it come from him. I texted him today and said that I will be there with him from a far when he speaks to the captain, and it will be alright.

Thank you
Audrey

Cochecton,

Sorry to hear about your son. but as cindy said, the Navy knows how to handle it and most likely in a way that will prevent him form EVER putting himself in that situation again. Meanwhile, he is your son (and one of ours through this list :-)) and you love him, sooooo, we continue to love and support him..
