Our kids are obviously sailors and the locals target the ones that look to be out of the area as they consider them easy targets. And leaving belongings within site of potential theives. I remind my gal all the time not to leave things out, but fortunately the way she throws her clothes around in her car when she can't find something, I noticed that it already looks broken into LOL.

Nancy - I just mailed my son a FAT envelope of overdraft charges! What's up with these kids! Use the ATM for $5 & get a $22 charge for having no money in the checking!!!

But who do they call when hey are in trouble or having problems? HUH??? The mom. That's who. LOL....at least Dan's insurance was paid (he set up auto payments a while ago) and we had the sense to add that he was in the military, so he doesn't have to front the money for the glass and wait to be reimbursed. The GPS and clothes can be replaced. He was so mad. He learned a valuable lesson, as far as I am concerned, and got off easy. It could have been worse. The crime there is awful.

I agree with you Maureen, they hear the lessons so much better from someone else (like they are hearing it for the first time) :)

I got my email today stating that the Cookbook is being printed as we speak. I assume you all got the same message. September 21st is the first time to get it, though it is on ship and in the shipyard only our sailors can get them. Sept 21st is my 7th anniversary. Hubby and I are planning to do something special, but don't know what yet (tight budget)

I am sitting here laughing because it has not been too long since I had the "I thought I put my insurance on automatic payment" lament. Sometimes they listen better when the advice/direction comes from someone else.

Oh my, overdraft charges and cars being broken into. And can we add the comment.... I thought I put my insurance on automatic payment........ Not paying attention to their business and knowing what they set up or not. My daughter thankfully went to Family Fleet services and they are helping her. Course they are saying the same things us Mommas and Poppas do, but hey, at least she is finally starting to listen. It has to cost them enough to do that.

I am so sorry to hear about yet another one of our kids--good kids in honorable jobs--being robbed by the low-life Newport News miscreants. I don't know if it will make a difference, but please tell him that we all care and send our love to him.

Just got a midnight call from my son His car was broken into while he was at the movies. Broke his window, stole his GPS and about $200 of clothes he bought today. He was so upset. Had to walk him through the insurance stuff. I wish I were down in VA.
