Crazy question-----Does your sailor take their leave when families visit Japan or do you go and just spend time with them when their duty shift is over?

Paula, From what I can find out there is a JR train that will go to Yokosuka. You should be on the express car (green sign on train cars). If you are not a member of the Japan moms, check in there. Anti M has posted comments on rail travel in Japan. I'm just nervous about the travel part. My mom and I are staying in Tokyo the first two days and we will take a shuttle bus from the airport to our hotel. We still are trying to figure out about getting to Yokosuka. I've read the trains do not have a lot of room for luggage. I'll let you know when I hear anything else. Also go online to www.japanrail.com to determine if you want to buy a rail pass before you go. There is an office in Houston where these can be purchased.

Natalie,
The calls that I have gotten from the ship phone come in with an 867 are code and a normal 10 digit number,

Lynda that is wonderful. If you talk to her again, can you please ask what train I should take from the airport to the base. Thanks

I finally got another email from my son! It always makes for a great day! Also has anyone ever got a call on there cell that starts with a 1 and is 7 digits long? I ignored one then got to thinking maybe it was international or from the ship???? Ugh! Don't they come unknown? He hasn't called from the ship yet so I don't know.

I get an e-mail from Sarah about every 2 to 3 days. All she can talk about right now if our trip. She plans to meet us at the airport if everything works out. Also she got liberty approved for Thursday thru Sunday. I am so glad about that one.

Lynda, I am so excited for you. I can't wait and I have more like 19 days :(! I have not heard much from mine lately so I am assuming they are really busy in her department.

If you have a vacume sealler for food it is great for sending things like soap, shampoo and stuff that might leak or smell. It's also great for sending cookies, cakes and breads. It keep everything fresh.
