Hey, I wore my GW t-shirt today on my school's morning news program! They were featuring sons and daughters of our school's employees as a part of our week-long Veterans Day recognition. It was an honor to be on the show. My biggest fear was that I'd get emotional during the broadcast, but I managed to hold it together.

Welcome Joy, My son works with Claudia's son. They are in Aviation Support.

I can see my son sliding around in a chair in choppy seas. Just last leave, he was sitting on the treadmill on high and flying off into the floor. He's 23 lol.

Hey Joy, welcome to the group. My son is the baby of the family and the last one to leave the nest so it was extremely hard to let him go - and still is.

Linda, I have not heard anything about this.

Hi Joy, welcome to the GW group. As you already know, you will learn so much here!

I received an email from my son a couple days ago and he said they were in some pretty rough water then. Hope they didnt have a lot of sick sailors! My son loves it though, says they play in their Chairs and crash into each other. I guess they have to entertain themselves somehow. :)

Hi Ladies...my name is Joy and my daughter is stationed on the GW...I've been checking this site every couple of days and decided its time for me to join in the chatting. Janea is my only girl and the baby and I can relate to everyones comments about missing their children, but we are a proud bunch of strong women to support our Sailors...Janea has been in Japan since Sept and is enjoying her stay on the GW but cant wait to get back to port. She is a YN and I'm oh so proud!!!!Thanks to everyone for sharing all your info and the funny thing is we know more info than they do because everytime I tell her something she said how do you know that when I haven't told you yet???? I tell her my Navy 4 Mom Sisters!!! Well gotta go and do some work but will posting often!!! A special thank you to all of your Sailors for keeping us safe, and serving their country!!!!

Be Blessed!! Joy

Claudia,
My son also arrived in Japan almost a year ago. Welcome, Sandy. I have enjoyed this sight and learned a lot about what's going on that my son doesn't think to share with me. :)

Claudia, I can't tell you how happy I am to have found this and the Japan N4M site. I had such a emotional day yesterday and I felt so much comfort in chatting with you all. Ryan comes home today and we're all playing hookey from life tomorrow to be together one more time before its time to say goodbye. I hope I can be strong, but I'm not holding out much hope. Oh well, my kids know what how I get anyway so I don't suppose they'll be too surprised. Actually, I think its going to be a soppy mess for all 5 of us!
Thanks to all of you for being here for me!
