Before Justin joined he was working full time for Interstate Batteries. He drove truck and delivered batteries to dealerships, reapair shops, ect all over Southwest Michigan. Along with working full time he was taking night classes at our community college and Western Michigan University. He didn't know what he wanted to do for a career and decided he wanted to join the Navy! He surely didn't want to drive truck for the rest of his life (not that he didn't like it because he did. He's very much a people person and loved his job. But like I said not for the rest of his life.)

You may not all know but we have been together for 6.5 years! We started dating my sophomore year of high school, his junior year. Our wedding will be one week shy of our 7 year anniversary. We were both in band. Justin played the baritone and I played the flute. However, during marching season I was in the color guard.

Justin has a brother and 2 sisters, all younger than him. This is nice since I don't have any siblings! It's also nice to have them to hang out with while he is gone. I don't know what I will do when I move to Hawaii and don't have them around while he's gone. I guess I will just have to hang out with Kasie and the few other wives I have talked to who are out there! :)

Oh, and Justin and I are both from Michigan.

i agree it is nice to have a small group of us so we can know eachothers stories. i know my sailor has beenincredibly busy so it wouldnt surprise me ifyours was also stacey considering they are both MMs and probably undergoing the same process. but i do like to spread good news my sailor recently brought to my attention that we are a little over 1/3 of the way done with this deployment!!!!

i dont know if i caused all this drama. but im sorry for the statement i made that was going against navy for moms rules. i hardly thought it through i was so excited. i really appreciate you bringing it to my attention because it is the silent service and as long as they are safe im happy. i guess i just figured that if i wasnt specifc it wouldnt hurt but i can see where your coming from. im just here for comfort from others whos loved ones are sharing this hard time with my sailor. we will just leave it at that!


sarah, i guess we should message some things we say to eachother instead of making them public.


I CANT WAIT TO HEAR FROM MY SAILOR AGAIN THOUGH!!! ITS BEEN A GREAT COUPLE OF DAYS!!

Debra, if that comment was not meant for my family than it is you i need to say sorry to its just i sit home and watch justins fiance cry and miss him like crazy and as i stated before i feel blessed that he has someone that loves him and cares about him as much as i do.. so i am truely sorry but i took that very personal i just know that this site has helped us so much kasie and myself and to feel that she can't use this site to help figure stuff out. because she isn't married yet well its just silly. and i am the first one to admit if i am wrong so if i have been than i am really sorry

If you have a problem with this group would you please let me know. I had no clue anyone was unhappy in our group. I simply wanted to create a space where those of us who have loved ones on the Key West could get together and chat. Thank you! Sarah

Debra,

I'm sorry you feel like you have not been shown respect in our group. I started the group as a resource really for myself to talk to others who have loved ones on the Key West. I don't know what you mean by the rumors going around and about this being a vicious group. If you don't want to say on here that's fine but I would really appreciate it if you sent me a personal message to talk about it. I surely don't want to run a group that is 'vicious' as you call it. I would really like to know what you are talking about since it is concerning a group that I created. Thank you! Sarah

dear amy,my son has been in for 11years i know better than anyone what it is like.my husband was in too so was my dad there are things and rumors you do not know about going on i do not want to be in a vicious group. i did not start this i tried to help every one,if i am wrong i apolige,the person knows who i am talking about,i wish the girls happy lives.i do not pss vicious rumors and do not want any part of itdebra

hi, I just read Debra's comment And i felt the need to respond i don't leave many comments infact i just read everyones post i am a navy mom and proud of it. and to me this site has been a life line to what my son is doing. there has been a lot of great info on here for me.. and don't you think that fiance deserve the same respect i do i know for a fact that kasie and Justin will be getting married in dec. they would have been married but he got deployed and their wedding was delayed. they are young and scared and worried about the men they love just as us the moms are worried and scared so to me for the fiances that have to sit home and wait deserve just as much respect and understanding as us don't you.think.. they don't know whats going on their lives have been put on hold when all they want to do is start a life with their sailors as soon as they return safe and sound.. maybe you should remember what it was like to be young and waiting for your sailor to come home. thats just my thoughts i enjoy reading their posts knowing that my son has someone who loves him and wants him to pull into port with a package from home. how wonderful is that to know that someone loves your baby boy that much. for me i think its a blessing like i said its just a thought but you who has been though this should be a little more supporting and understanding. and just one more thought kasie is part of my family their wedding was planned for Aug. 1st and just to be clear planned as in everything was set to go the church the hall the dresses and than justin got deployed so in my mind they are married and i have a wonderful daughter in law. and just to say one more thing my son loves this girl and all he talks about is his wedding to her..as soon as he can marry her he will.so maybe she should have a little respect to.because she is the women my son has choosen to spend the rest of his life with. i know i respect her.

stacey this will be my last comment i will be joining the hawaii group this sight is supose tobe for moms and wives and kids.it has been taken over by too people that are not in the navy yet.good luck to them i wish you respect i have not been shown any here.if you want to contact go to hawaii group.i have enjoyed talking to you.best wishes to your family.
