Yeah they have alot of lessons to learn. Daniel has learned a few himself since he went over there. Soo far he has had his phone stolen and the bill ran upto $1,200 and then he had to pay it off. I offered to help him out and was so proud of him he said no mom I'll take care of it. And then in May he said he wasn't sure how they did it but evidently he went somewhere and used his debit card and they must have wrote down the # and the code from the back and tried to put the screws to him. They charged over $200 and it went thru and then they came back and charged over $300 and then came back and tried $600 and the last 2 were declined and they bank notified him. It was right about the time they left underway back in June. He was very lucky that they declined and got curious and then he was lucky it took a little while but he got his $200 something dollars back. Needless to say it put him in a bit of a bind cuz they had to send him a new debit card which took awhile because they were underway. The thing that saved him was I had sent him a credit card about 6 months before that andhe was able to use that to get him by till he got it. I still remember when I sent it he said mom what do I need this for!! I told him I got it in his name for emergency. He was glad he had that. Now he pays more attention when he uses his debit card. I told him to always watch the cashier when they go to run it thru cuz that is usually when they get the numbers. Unfortunately they have lots to learn but that is what makes them grow. Also if they get themselves out of the messes they grow even more. I try to tell Daniel how proud I am of him. I remember times like Stephanie had just when Daniel was little and we had very little money. It is funny how u always remember those things. She will look back on it in the future and laugh.

I finally heard from Stephanie. She's had a few glitches with her house. Got back, went to her house and there was a "note" on the door. Went in - no electric, no water, no gas and the note was in Japanese. She took it to a friend who read Japanese, went to her original realtor and found out that the utilities were never transferred into her name. People obviously stopped paying and all was shut off. She had to dress for a dinner with her flashlight and because it's the weekend is spending nights back on the ship. Glad she's learning these real life lessons even if it's inconvenient. She can't leave details to somebody else. She said the weather is great and she went to Kamakura (the historic town with all the temples and such). I wish they had mail call more often. I'm sending boxes and have a feeling she's going to get them all at once. All have a good weekend. Jane

Yeah I also have some pics of Daniel and Reiko but thought I'd better not put them in his scrapbook. I really like her I wish they would get back together. But I don't think that is going to happen. She is a really sweet girl. She usually emails me or face books me almost every day. I was on myspace IM with her this morning and saw daniel log on so I sent him a message. He has never answered any of them before but did finally answer this time. But only a couple of short times. It is late there he said almost midnight so he went to bed. But it was still great to hear from him. Well my horse got delivered so I guess I better get off here and go to work and check things out before I head back to the sale. ttyl

HI Terra, I haven't heard much from Stephanie either in the last week or 2. It's funny you should mention an ex-friend. Stephanie broke up with a guy she dated for 6 years and he's coming back to our hometown for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Wonder if he'll call?? I did like the guy but did take down all pictures of Steph and the guy not too long ago. Sure wish my son, Scott, who's going to Japan could get his H1N1 shot before he goes! Hopefully our kids over there will get theirs soon. Jane

anything exciting going on ladies? I don't know much haven't talked to Daniel in almost 2 weeks. I hear more from his ex girlfirend than I do him. She emails me everyday.

That's great. Yeah Daniel didn't get to come home laster cuz of that and this year it just got all screwed up they were sending him to schoool then they weren't and it was all to late. But he is going to school right now he said but I did read that he was taking leave on the 14th-28th. So at least he gets some time he just has to take it there close by.

I'm so happy some of your kids are coming home. Stephanie is a "low man on the totem pole" so she's staying. However, her 18 yr old brother is flying to Japan to see her between Christman and New Years and they'll be traveling to Kyoto and Tokyo for New Years! They can do all the "yahoo" stuff and when I go and see her sometime we can do museums and historical stuff. She got into her house finally. All her stuff arrived safely. She's glad to be not living out of her suitcase she took with her in June!. Happy weekend to all, Jane

Hello Tina how r u doing? So how was the visit home? I hope u guys had a great time. I can't wait til the first time I see Daniel. It has been so long I feel as tho I don't know him any more. He has changed so much in everything. He is going to school right now for a few weeks. That always seems to keep him really busy and then he has duty like every 6th day on the ship.

David will be back in our hometown this week. I'm going there this weekend to see him. It has been way too long. I will ash him if he knows Ty and Daniel. You ladies have a wonderful day. Gotta run. Came home from work to watch the GA/FL game, then have to go back. GO DAWGS!!!!!

Terra & Heidi, it is really a small world. We have lived in Kansas for the last 10 years. Before that we lived in Seal Beach CA and Stephanie went to McAuliffe Middle School in Los Alamitos!! We lived near the 405 and the Los Alamitos Air Base.Every Sunday morning those planes would fly overhead. We were also near the Naval Weapons Stations at Seal Beach. I remember all the disclaimers regarding all of that we had to have when we sold our house there. One other thing Terra, this past summer, my boys and husband were boy scout camping, Stephanie was already gone and I went on vacation with just my dog to Kentucky Lake to meet friends who pull their airstream down from Michigan every year. Oh, and I don't know what cranking is. I'm new at all these abbreviations for things?? Also what is ESWS? Talk to you soon. Jane
