Hello Sewjoyful, welcome to the group. How long has your daughter been on the Nimitz? Thanks for offering to help with the postage or costs of the goody bags , I'm sure someone here would appreciate it. I know Sam wanted to send a few other things and postage was an issue so she might welcome the help.

Hello everyone. I am new to this group but have been reading about the Christmas planning for the Nimitz and the entire strike group. My daughter is on her first deployment and is on the Nimitz. I would like to take part but don't think I can do the goodie bags/stockings. Could I contribute money to someone to help finish theirs or perhaps to go toward the postage?

Welcome, JP and Trish! Like Sam said, this is a great group to find support and comfort in the feeling that we're all going through this together. I don't comment daily, but I do read the posts and know that if I am ever down, these ladies will jump right in to make us feel better. Trish, I notice that you're from New Port Rickety (lol). I'm in St. Pete, so we're neighbors.

Thanks everyone. My son is in Guam (USS Buffalo), but I have been reading this group of or a couple of weeks, and see that it is one of the more active ones, so will continue to do so. Again, thank everyone and God Bless.

Welcome, JP and Trish
I am sure it is a difficult time of the year for your sailor to deploy. But I promise
you that you can always find support and comfort in this group of ladies. What
I wish if I had Navy for moms when my son 1st deployed. I can't tell you any
deployment gets any easier. But as you see your son return home after each
deployment they come back from you will see how much they have grown
and how much they have learned. The main thing is when you email with them
or talk to them on the phone is stay positive. The ships and subs become
very stressful along with all the new changes in their lives. So just remember
that and remember we all are here for you to help support your family and
your sailor.

Trish, welcome to the group. Your son will get his email address about a week after arriving to the ship. Have you signed up with the ombudsman by email? If not, this is their email address: ussnimitzombudsman@yahoo.com

Hi JP, I see your son is on the sub, USS Buffalo. If you contact the ombudsman for the sub she might be able to help you.
