Hey ladies, I have another busy day ahead, having kind of crazy week actually. I will be soooo ready to just sit a spell and "chillax" ,as my teen daughter says, by Sat. night and Sunday! Don't forget to officially RSVP to Navy Week-Spokane, the Event page is listed on the right or you can find it on my page.

I'm going to check in with our Tri Cities Moms (they started their own discussion in the Wa/Ore Group) and extend the invite to them to join us. Does anyone have spare room if they want to come for the parade and stay the night? Then they could meet us at Red Robins and drive home on Sunday. I would offer in a heartbeat, but we're waay up on the Northside, plus our spare/"guest" room is doubling a homeschool resource room right now and it's half torn apart, as we were planning to paint it on Memorial Day weekend! Let me know. Chat with you all soon. =)

OK Ladies, looks like Barbara's former CS Navy son is working at Red Robin on Sunday. She's checking to see if he would be able to come in before his shift. Would 3pm work for you girls? If not, we'll leave it at 2pm. Left PMs on Colene's and Diane's page. can't wait to see you, maybe even at the parade tonight. I'll be the one in the Red, White and Blue shoes/white denim jacket wearing my blue star and Navy flag pin. Hubby, teen daughter and 2 younger boys are wearing their Navy shirts too.

Sorry MH-Just to clarify...3 p.m., Red Robin in the Valley Mall. Hey, if you are coming, bring Adam if you can! Thanks, was beginning to think I was just talking to myself! :)

Bumped into Colene at the parade yesterday. She spotted my hubby's Navy Dad t-shirt and Navy hat first as he was slightly ahead of me. =) Half mill people or so, stretched over many city blocks, we were all scurrying around at about 5:30, (Parade started at 7:45) trying to find somewhere we could actually put lawn chairs down and sit, (that wasn't already reserved/taken) and bam, we intersect! Now, what are the odds of that!?!? Looking forward to some better getting to know you and chat time!

I got a message from my son, Ryan, who works at Red Robin that he took about 8 seconds of work time to come sit down and say hi to those of you that got together today. He wanted me to apologize to everyone that he didn't have more time to spend. He's a hoot, we used to tell him that we kept him around for entertainment! Hope your get together was fun, wish I could have been there.

It sure was a brief sighting Barbara! Didn't think we'd still be there at or after 5. It was really starting to get busy and he even got teased by a co-worker for "sitting down on the job"; -his tushy hardly hit the seat!-hope it wasn't a supervisor and we didn't get him in trouble! Let us know when you are going to be in town for more than 24 hours and we'll try to plan a get together. It was just Colene and I, but we easily chatted away 2 hours.

MH, I texted the meeting details to your phone and signed my name, so you'd know who it was from. Hope you weren't there at 2, or downtown! Diane, we were worried about you! Hope everything is o.k. and something just came up. Guess I don't have your phone # after all, thought I did. My apologies to you both. You were missed! We'll dial it in next time. Hope you're still game.

Btw: the Tri Cities Moms would definitely like to connect with us during the summer sometime. Anyone have any specific dates in mind, or not? For instance, I'll won't be available the first two weeks of July. Maybe we should just set the 3rd weekend of the Month, or every other, as our meeting time? We could arrange to do things with a local Recruiting office too? Just some ideas. Got to get the word out to Spokane DEPper/Navy Moms that we're here. My husband just chased one down on Francis today, honked and waved. Had a specialized Navy Sailor/mom plate! :)

Turns out there was one employee no-show so Ryan was really slammed. It was a manager that gave him a hard time but he has a way of getting out of anything, they were fine with it! I think that had he not had his father-in-law in town all week (which I didn't know about) and his grandfather pulling into town that day he might have gone in earlier to say hi. We'll be over again one of these days!
