Hi Mary Helen,
boy was your headline a surprise to me, a good surprise! i can tell you that there are three other N4Ms in the Spokane area. Who knows how many others are out there and may join us soon? What is your son's rating and how long has he been in the Navy? Four Tours seems like a lot! How are you holding up? Mine is just finishing up "A" school in Great Lakes and due to come home on leave in two weeks. Looking forward to chatting with you and perhaps meeting sometime soon. I'll let the others know you are here. God Bless and thanks for inquiring. :-)

Hi, Mary Helen,
My son, born and raised in Spokane, is currently stationed in Norfolk, VA on the USS Enterprise. He is an MC3 aboard the carrier. Happily for all he is married to a Spokane girl so they have lots of reason to visit Spokane as often as possible. Though with the rise in airline ticket prices they can't visit as often as all would like. I did have the honor of being present at the birth of their son, Gabe.
Mark has been on one deployment to the Gulf.

I know its a little late, but I am a navy wife right outside of Spokane. It shocked me as well, when I saw the title. I have seen so many from the west side of the state but none from the east side. My husband, Ryan, is just finishing up basic and then going to be in gl for A school. We arent sure we are getting stationed yet. But both of our familys are here, and with a little boy on the way, we have so many reasons to visit as much as we can.

Hi ladies...I'm Colene and I'm in Spokane too! Nice to see our little group gather together in our area! Im in the Valley.
My daughter, Alicia, is just finishing up at bc next week (can't wait!!) and then she's off to Nuke School. We are heading to PIR next Thur and we are so excited to see her again. This past week has been especially hard, probably cuz I know seeing her is so close. It's like a watched pot! It never boils.
Nice to meet ya'll! Let's get together for a meet and greet sometime soon.

Welcome Amanda! Let us know how we can best support you and your little family. Mary Helen, Spokane Renae and Colene all have grown kids/empty nests and my kids are all in their teen years, my Sailor turns 21 this month, so we all need a BABY fix in the worst way! LOL Which "A" school in GL will Ryan be at? Be aware, there can be some delays/hold times sometimes and he will have to do two weeks of INDOC before he actually classes up to start school.

Colene just attended her daughters PIR yesterday, she's in GL as I type, so touch base with her before you go as her experience is the most recent of our Group. Can't wait to see the pictures and hear the report! =)

So ladies, when-and where- would you like to meet up? Are Saturdays or Sunday afternoons better for everyone? We also have some Tri Cites ladies we might want to try to include, one brand new to WA, another a DEPper mom, as well as some Idaho gals. Let me know your thoughts. Is everyone around on spring break weekend, the first weekend in April? I saw that you were in school Amanda. Maybe we could try for something then. I will be gone (hopefully) to the other side of the state for a big N4Ms gathering/ship homecoming later in the month. I also have another Event on my page you might want to check out too... Navy Week is coming to Spokane in May. Stay tuned for details. I've asked our Admin to bring me up to speed on planned festivities. Let's all keep in touch! :-)

Yeah I am. I'm not going into Ryans school because it might be changing. Dont really want to go into details right now. I might be here that weekend, I might not be. Saturdays are better for me than sundays. I would like together with other moms. It would help SOOOO much. Just let me know when and where.

HI!! Sorry i'm so late getting back in touch with you ladies!! I got back late Monday night from GL and we had a GREAT weekend. We spent Fri/Sat/Sun with my Sailor, and now she's already in Charleston for Nuke School.

I'd LOVE to get together!! Saturdays are great, and would give our Tricities friends (and others) time to come and get back home too. Sundays may be a bit cramped for time. I do have family here for spring break, so unforturnately wouldn't be available this next weekend. =(

You ladies have a GREAT evening!

I just noticed this discussion. I'm on the West side but my youngest son (out of the Navy after 4 years) lives in Spokane with his wife and son (almost 3). If you're in the Valley and at Red Robin at the Mall or the Starbucks you might run into them. Anybody needing a "little one" fix, my grandson is a cutie pie. Just thought I'd put in my 2 cents worth.

Just thought I'd say hi.. I am not in Spokane.. but not far.. I am down south in Pullman. My son is stationed on Whidbey Island and just finished C school in aviation mechanics. He has enjoyed his first year in the Navy and likes being in the Pacific Northwest. Glad to meet some navy moms and wives close to home!!

Hey ladies, hope everyone had a great Easter! Can't believe we had snow, AGAIN, this morning!!! So done with that! Gwen, nice to see you pop in, it's been a while. Sounds like things are very well with your Sailor son. :)

Barbara, feel free to "butt in and leave your two cents" anytime. We dub you an honorary Spokanite! :) I bet your little grandson is a total cutie. I can always use a preschooler fix. As a former teacher, 3 year olds were my favorite age group! The Valley might be a great place for us to meet up and either of those two locations on a Sat. sounds good. First, I'm headed to your side of the state, next week, can't wait! :D

So, what do you girls think of a May 02 gathering? Does that give everyone time to make plans? Heads up...We have Navy Week in Spokane coming May 11-18th. I am waiting for Elle to post the details for me. there is an event already created for it, so we can use that to chat about the specifics of planning to participate whatever local events are scheduled. Hope we all can in some way. We can throw ideas around when we get together if May 02, or the 9th (I know Mother's Day is the 10th however), works to meet up.

Colene and Diane, how are your girls doing? Amanda, are you still with us? Did your hubby graduate from BC already? How are you and the baby doing? I already know Spokane Renae and Mary Helen and have also had the pleasure of meeting Diane, (thank you for your sweet compliment about my boys!) and her daughter Sheila, looking forward to meeting the rest of you, and maybe our Tri Cities Moms too! Let's make it happen!
