Navy For Moms

Hi Moms,

It was suggested by Angie to start a discussion for our seperate bases, since there are so many bases in WA. My son is now with VQ-2

Hey there, my son is with VAQ-133 as well, but I haven't heard from him in over a month... any idea what the status of the squadron is? Are they heading out? If you want to email me privately, please do so.

VAQ 134 is safely home. To the welcoming party in NH, I thank you all for being there to give a warm welcome to our troops. It mean so much to my son and to the rest of the troops. God bless you all.
I thank the Lord for keeping them safe. God is Good and Great! He answers all my prayers.
Welcome home to Whidbey, VAQ 134 and thank you for training my son.

Happy Thanksgiing to all Whidbey Island mom's. Let's give thanks to God for all He's done for us and continues to do each and every day. Thank Him for our sailors and for keeping them safe. May all of you have a wonderful and blessed day.

I need some help. When your sailors arrived in Washington what airport did they arrive at. How did they get to Whidbey Island? My son has never been to that part of the U.S. and just trying to make sure we can get him from the airport to Whidbey Island, I dont want him stuck at the aiport or who could I call to get him to Whidbey island. Thanks

When my son got there, he flew into Seattle and there were shuttles that ran to Whidby Island. I think the best thing is for him to contact the USO there if there isn't a Navy booth somewhere at the airport.

There is a great USO at Seatac airport... one of the few USO's that is open 24/7! On the second floor above arrivals... not marked well but easy to find once someone points it out! They offer sandwiches, a place to hang out or sleep, xbox and most of all friendly people that are there to assist our service men and women!

Thank You for the help, I am sure he will need a place to hang for 2 hours waiting for a shuttle. Kathy said if I have questions you were the one to ask. I am just a nervous mom with all kinds of questions. He has never traveled this far away before. I am just thankful he was home for Thanksgiving and had a home cooked meal (he said it was his first in seven months). Someday I would love to come out that way I hear it is beautiful country.
