For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hello

It has been a long time since I have posted and I am sorry. I hope everyone has been able to connect with others in the PACT program. My son is now 3 and a half years in and it has been a great experience. He thought he wanted to be an AM. When he got on the ship, he was put with the AO’s. Now he is an AD3. It was best for him to start PACT because we didn’t know much about the Navy and he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. This has been a good route for him.

Comment by Christie on November 10, 2014 at 11:11pm: Thank you !! It's sooo exciting and I can't wait for when you guys have your PIR!! It's such a proud moment and day!! We stayed at the Navy Lodge which I would highly recommend -- it's close to the RTC and they have a shuttle that can take you to the PIR so you don't have to worry about driving and waiting in line. Clean rooms and very friendly! Go to Sarge's Meet and Greet on Thursday night if you can--- very fun!! We flew into Milwaukee instead of Chicago and rented a car -- no problems at all. Had dinner at Lovell's -- very nice but kinda pricey. He did want his phone, boxers and took a long shower at the hotel too :) We were able to shop at the NEX and bought him a watch and laptop to take back with him. We also went to Chicago for the day with our Sailor and had a blast.

A piece of advice that another Navy Mom gave us last year was that don't try to pack a lot of activities for your Sailor over the weekend. Remember they have been living with strict structure and routine since day 1 of boot camp. They want to have good meals, relax, sleep, listen to music, catch up with emails and have their phones back. Just play it by ear a let your Sailor dictate the weekend. Go ahead and make reservations as needed... you can always cancel them at the last minute. The main thing is enjoy your Sailor!!!!!

It is a wonderful experience, words can not describe the pride you feel watching all those sailors marching in, you just want to jump out of your seat and run down and hug everyone of them.....of course after you have found yours!
