From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Communication is dictated by what is happening with his career in the Navy. Patience is important. Learned this as an Air Force brat and has been reinforced by the Navy. Commonly known as "Hurry up and wait".
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Dinner with MCPON West in Chattanooga

Moms, dads, brothers, sisters, friends, and DEPers all arrived for dinner with MCPON West. I am so sorry that my friend that was going to carpool with me did not get to go. When I told her I couldn’t afford the trip, she made other plans. Sure hope she doesn’t get upset with me when she finds out how extraordinary the dinner turned out to be. It's been too long since we chatted. How is your sailor doing? Andy is happy to be in prototype. He likes the hands on aspect of it. We have time off school at Christmas, and even though he may not have it off, we are going. Have a daughter-in-law to dote on, too.
Since I saw you, I got a head cook's position in our school district. The pay is not much different, but I qualify for their health insurance. It's saving us big bucks as compared to being on hubby's plan.
Keeping busy with the overseas packages in Molly's group. Now, our church has adopted a group for Christmas, and we are in the planning stages for Valentine's day shippings.

Awe, Sherry, thank you so much for your support. And I'm so sorry for the loss of your loved ones. No matter how large a family is, each member is precious. You know, on that blog thing, that's just the craziest thing I've ever seen! My Gosh! I was afraid at first it was just me, I quickly learned it wasn't. I checked myself tho because I have been known to have a temper and it's been known to show it's self. But then the things being said became so ridiculous that I could hardly quit laughing! So far from my purpose and intent that I just couldn't believe it. What you stated happened in your family was my reason for sharing it. It isn’t the “law,” it isn’t the original “why” but it is often shared and read now. And the place it’s read the most is at military funerals. Usually, BY REQUEST! That’s all. And it was just that simple.
Oh, you mentioned handling the flag when you were young in a ceremonial way, no, the 'folds' thing wouldn't have been taught because origianally there was no 'reason' to fold it a certain way. It's just that somewhere over time, someone, somewhere came up with it and so many people loved it that it has become a part of many ceremonies. That was what I don't think those women could understand at all. Again, thx soo much!
