I haven't started to make plans yet. I have a major bunch of garbage going on at work right now that is taking up all my time and I haven't been able to focus on anything else. I have never been to Norfolk either and yeah I know that driving from Texas is not a great idea because I thought about doing it myself because I truly HATE to fly. But driving takes up too much time that needs to be spent with our sailors, so I am watching the Norfolk moms group postings and the TR moms postings about places to stay and stuff like that.
I wish I had something better to tell you, but until this week is over with at work, I can't think about anything else...there's just too much going on.

You could try; I don't know the answer. I've heard it, but haven't gotten any confirmation anywhere yet. This is my son's first cruise too, so I am just as new at this as you are. There's a lot to learn...I try to lean on the TR moms who are dealing with 2nd and 3rd deployments for information and help!

Hi Carmen - I've heard that too about the free postage from the ship, but I keep forgetting to ask Danny about it. From what I've heard, they won't be able to e-mail us their return date for security reasons - they will have to send it to us snail mail...I need to find out for sure so that my sailor understands I will need that info as soon as he gets it so I can make travel plans.

Hi Aaron's mom, my son also joined in Sept 07 and graduated boot camp Nov 07. His PIR was on Nov 2nd. Was Aarons on the same date? I know you can't wait until April 09. Hope you have heard from him and he is doing well.
