Hi, Amanda,
Welcome to our Moms of IS Sailors group! We have moms with kids in all phases of their Navy careers, so it's a good place to ask questions. I see that your son left yesterday.....I know how sad that is. My other kids still make fun of me for how I mourned, but it was tough! My son, Jim, started boot camp on April 1st last year and is stationed overseas now. It is easier now that I can call him and we get to talk to eachother a lot, so hang in there. Please let me know if I can help you at all. Ellen

Amanda-- We all truly know how you feel. Stay on line and Share. My husband is tired of me saying on "N4M's" I read. etc. but we truly know what you are experiencing. There are moments when time seems to stand still. But you will get a letter, or a phone call and your heart will warm. My son left on 2/9 and it seems like forever. But the letters I receive I read and re-read. Start writing him everyday. They receive mail everyday but can only write on Sundays if they "earn" it a group. So don't be too discouraged if it takes awhile. But writing to him made ME feel better. When he called he thanked me many times about the letters and said keep sending them. (I promise my letters are all lame-- Like I did laundry today, went work came home the dog pooped on the floor, (lol) etc) Take care, and know we care about you.
