I don't think you can specify what branch of the military it is. There are sailors serving overseas also. It looks like all of the cards were drawn by kids. I could not find a perfect card but there were several that I liked.

We just left our son-in-law at the airport for the first time, on his way to Pearl. I guess it won't get easier, will it... He and my daughter have never been apart for more than a week since they met. I hope they get an apartment soon, so she can...

I understand your feelings Lily. It is always hard to say goodbye, especially when you know it will be a while before you see them again. After the initial sadness I try to focus on the fact that he is happy where he is and the fantastic man he ha...

Another sad day for me today....... my son left to go back to HI after a 14 day trip home. I just left him at the airport. These "goodbyes" are tough each time.

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
When he comes to mind throughout the day or night PRAY RIGHT THEN! HARD
To just love him and not ask too many questions.
To write daily while he is deployed.
NEVER forget to say I love you at the end of a call.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Good morning and Happy July 4th. I just joined the Greeneville group yesterday. My son Nathan is a Nuke EM aboard the Greeneville. We live in Connecticut and were in Groton on Father’s Day when the boat pulled out. I have some pictures but don’t think I should post them publically. You can email me at bulge54@comcast.net and I’ll forward you some pictures. Have a great day.

Hi Amber,
Allan is an ET on the Greeneville. I am missing that boy something awful! I have to figure out a time to get over to HI to see him. But it's so hard with not knowing when he'll have leave. I don't want to book a trip just to get over there and find out he is out or working.

Amber, how long is your son out? Andrew is a MM or FSU not sure which one to use.

He expects that he will report in early October. They were told shortly after his class started BESS in April that if they didn't have orders by mid April they wouldn't go to new base until 10/1 (start of the new fiscal year).

He finished 2nd in his class so he was able to pick where he wanted to go. I am really excited, but will have to wait til sometime next year to go to Hawaii to visit. I have been unemployed since 2/27 and no job in site at the moment.

I would like to hook up with your uncle if that is ok. I will add you as a friend and then you can PM me for my address.
