Profile Information

About me:
I am 45 and married to the love of my life. I have two great sons, one is an artist and just became a father. And my youngest has joined the Navy. He graduated from basic in November and is currently in school in Connecticut.
I am over the anxiety of basic training. He is at school until at least this time next year. He seems to be enjoying the Navy so far and plans to make this his career. He chose subs.
I am here to support or represent my:

From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
The Navy does take care of their own.

April and Easter

Hello anyone who wants to listen.

Not being able to see my son is killing me. Have not seen him since Christmas and only for a day then. I miss him so much it hurts. But he doesn't understand that. I know he is busy and the phone calls are becoming further and further apart. I don't know how I am going to make it through his deployments. But such is life and I know we all go through it. Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter. Thanks for listening. God Bless

Thank you for your post. I am very nervous but I know God will keep my boy safe. My stepson goes to Towson College now. I would love if you would e-mail me. I would really like to meet other Navy Moms in my area. I think it will be helpful for those long lonely times to be able to talk with someone who can understand. That would be great. Thanks

Hi Amy. That is great about your son. I am so excited we are going to drive to GL so we are going to leave Wednesday that way hubby can have Thursday to rest and I can check out the area. I just can't wait. Already making my list of everything to take and things to do before hand. I need to mail his contact lenses to him this week he said the RDC said he could wear them at graduation, I was kinda hoping to see him in his BC glasses :-) Maybe this fall we can meet one weekend for lunch, and share stories :-) Linda

Hi Amy, Thanks for the words of encouragement. I received 2 phone calls and several letters from my recruit. Only 30 more days till I see him at graduation. I am in Greenbelt, Md.

Hello Everyone, I owe you all an apology, I kinda disappeared this summer. Have been keeping the grand baby just about everyday and night and when I don't have him, I have been trying to get my summer to do list completed. Not very successful there. Although he is the joy of my life, middle of the night feedings are for the young. LOL

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and I would still like to try and get everyone together, Anyone have a suggestion as to where we could or you would like to meet? I am open to any suggestions.

I am finally going to get to Groton next weekend and am really excited to finally be able to see 1. my son and 2. to see where he has been living for almost a year. Man time is flying. He is due to graduate in October and is hoping to stay on the east coast. That will be nice since flying is not an option for me. And I would like to be able to be there at least the first time he is deployed.
