- About me:
- I am the mother of 3, grandmother of 5. I work full time as an Administrative Assistant. I have been married for 35 years. Since my son has been in the Navy I have had vanity plates on my car that say NAVY MOM. I told him I would keep the plates until he was no longer in the Navy. Looks like I have 11 years to go. He has re-enlisted for the second time. He has been in the Navy 9 years.

- When I heard “Navy,” I:
- Was proud and encouraged it
- From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
- How mature my son had become during his weeks at boot camp. This was not the same 18 year old who had left home for the service.
- Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
- It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
