"CARRIER" a Documentary

A great documentary for every new recruit is one called. "CARRIER". It is the most informative you can possibly imagine. My son and I have been watching this series and found it to be even more informative then the information that his recruiter has been giving to him.

I would suggest all recruits watch this.. It gives you a realistic view of life on a Carrier.

Hi Ang!
Jacob found out that his duty station will be Norfolk, VA, which is only 9 hours away from us! We are so happy (his wife is too). He will be assigned to work on the ship USS WASP, but he'll get to live on base housing when his wife moves down there after she graduates college in May. For now, he'll live on the ship. He will graduate A-school this Monday, Dec. 14th and then get to come home until Dec. 28th. We are so excited and are going to drive to P'cola this Saturday with his wife to pick up his belongings. We are going to stay to watch him graduate. He has to fly to Kentucky and we should get here in time on Tuesday to pick him up from the airport. Not sure why he has to fly and not ride back with us, but I'm learning the Navy has its own way of doing things.

He will have to do C-school the month of January and reports to North Point, CA on Dec. 29th. He's excited to get to be in California for a month.

How long will Chris be in Japan? I can only imagine how hard it is for you to have your husband and Chris both gone.

It's great to hear from you and I'm glad we can keep in touch with each other.

Have a blessed day,
Lisa

Hi Ang,
It's great to hear from you. Yes, I've been very busy with work, but it does help me keep from thinking about missing Jacob as much. Jacob is due to graduate A-school on Dec. 14th and get to come home for a week. He's supposed to find out his orders sometime this week, so we are on pins and needles waiting to hear where he will be in January. His wife is hoping it will be on the east coast and we are too. Glad to hear that Chris is doing great in Japan. Jacob has duty Thanksgiving weekend. His wife wanted to go down there for Thanksgiving, but he told her not to because they wouldn't get much time to spend together. We can't wait for him to be home for Christmas!
I wish you blessings for Thanksgiving.
Friends,
Lisa

Every thing is going good for Jake. He is home on leave right now and then he reports to the USS George Washington on Dec 6th. He is no longer in Corpsman school. He concluded that he didn't have the stomach for the medical field. He is going to the fleet as a striker where he will find the job he wants. He is very excited about going to Japan.
Ahhh, school. It is a great experience. I am glad to see that you are doing it.
I will have a wonderful Thanksgiving and I hope that you do, too.
Take care,

Dawn

My daughter Katie is ont he USS Essex out of Sasebo. Whether she is in port or out to sea, I always send it the same address. Katie hasn't had any trouble getting it either way. When out to sea they get it at the next port of call or replenishment. Not sure if this helps or not. I always send packages in the APO/FPO Flat rate priority boxes and it takes about a week when they are in port.

Hi Ang, my son PIRd in May, then deployed in July. What is your son's name? What ship is he on? My son, Elliott wanted to be on an aircraft carrier, but that's not what he was assigned to, so we're both disappointed. I'm glad you wrote me.

Hi Ang, I have been hearing from my son via email to my cell phone. Last text was early Sunday am. I guess I will start to hear from him towards the end of the week. Yes I spoke to my son while he was still in Japan, but I purchased a calling card and called him on his phone there which is much cheaper than him calling me. Thanks for the email...(smile) Talk to you...

Oh ok...was wondering if they may already know each other. My son has met a few friends since being in... His bootcamp grad was May 8th and he went to Tech school in Pensacola, FL. I will definitely keep in touch! Thanks!

Hi Ang,
Norton, WV is in Randolph County. Mannington is in Marion County in north central WV about a half hour from Fairmont. It takes us about an hour to drive to West Virginia University. It might take an hour and a half to two hours to get to Norton. I'm just guessing on it. In what part of New York are you located? My step-son is in Afghanistan right now but is stationed at Ft. Drum in New York. His family is there now.
Take care.
Claudia
