Well, leave is about over. Justin is visiting his father in Chicago, then back to Norfolk on the 28th. He has a 16+ hour drive. We had a great time. His favorite part of leave, he says, is home cooked meals! Especially since this is the time of year…

Hi Anne - I just found your page and from what I can tell, your son is also an FC and a Sea Sparrow missile tech, just like my son.

I wanted to let you know that we have a group set up for FC & ETs, feel free to come over and join the group. Here's the link to it:

Dear Anne,
Justin is in charge of 3 work stations, God bless him!!! He must be really great with his job. I know your proud of him. That is some responsiblity!!
That will be wonderful if he comes home for Christmas. I still have no idea when I'll see Kim. She's still waiting for those orders where she'll be stationed. Then she can come home.
We have to adjust ourselves to the Military life as well!!UGH!!
Let me get going. Take care and God bless.

I have a whole wardrobe of cool shades now! One of my favorite pairs were found in Tucson at a TruValue for $3! And I don't have to fight with bi-focals or contacts. Two hours after surgery I was home reading the newspaper and watching TV. I was back teaching the next day. The surgeries were one week apart as I'm sure you know.

Hi Anne-
My son is still relatively new to Navy, but am sure it never is easy to let them go- Just wanted to let you know I'll be thinking about ya!

Who's doing your surgery? I'm guessing you're going to Eye Associates. I had cataract surgery years ago--I was born with them--and Dr. Feeney did the surgery. He fixed the astigmatism, too. Haven't worn glasses since. I'll meet your sometime. Tell your sailor thanks for us!

That is so cool! It sounds like your son has done very well in the Navy. I have two other boys, one is in his last year of college, he goes to Lincoln Christian College. My youngest is 12 and in 7th grade.
I can't wait until PIR but we only get an hour and 1/2 or so with him and not sure when we will see him again after that. We hope to head down to SC for Thanksgiving.

Dear Anne,
How are you doing? This Navy for moms is such a blessing!
So your a pro at this!!! It's so hard on us moms with our babies gone. I'm no better!! It's our nature to worry!
SO you haven't seen Justin in over a year. Do you have any contact with him?
This is what I'm probably going to look forward to as well.
My daughter Kim, just finished A School. She's waiting for her new orders for where she'll be stationed. I am sure she'll be on a ship as well. She was trained to read the radar and morse code.
I write to a few moms with their children on ships. I know communication is rare.
I'll let you get going. I hope to hear from you again.
Take care and God bless.
