Well my daughter is officially a Navy wife now so I guess i am still a Navy Mom. James will be going back to Great Lakes Sunday before being sent to Pensacola for C school. Nicole will not be able to join him until his permanent duty station in San Diego by June.

My daughter came home last night with an Admistrative Discharge, less than 6 months. She decided the Navy was not for her. She could not adapt to the military way of life. Having someone else determine where you live, what you wear, when you do anything. As parents we were disapointed that she found this too difficult but we love her and want only the best for her. She is now engaged to an ET who will be off to Pensacola for 4 months of C school before duty station in San Diego.

Yes, I think they do that all the time. My son wanted to be FC and they switched him to ET. It has worked out well because he Loves his job now. I think what they Navy does is to guarantee a job CLASS, in this case Advanced Electronics/Computer which includes both ET and FC. I think both rates are awesome and require a lot of brain power.

Hi Annette, just wanted to stop by and welcome you to the AE/CF group. There are alot of great moms to support you along the way. I see that your daughter has been switched to FC. Our son has been in A school since April for FC and my husband was an FC for 10 years it is a great rate with almost two years of schooling before they are ever deployed. So that in itself is a good thing!!! I posted the job descriptions for both rates in the forum so you can see the difference but if you have any specific questions - just ask.

I found this in another forum and wanted to share:
We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it's good to be an American.
RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the 'silent majority'. We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers.
We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing. We get no liberal media coverage on TV, to reflect our message or our opinions. Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops.
Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday - and continues each and every
Friday until the troops a ll come home, sending a deafening message that...
Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear something red. By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers. If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once 'silent' majority is on their side more than ever; certainly more than the media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked 'What can we do to make things better for you?' is......We need your support and your prayers.
Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and wear something red every Friday.
We as Moms & Family could really get this going.

Hey Annette. How are things going? I haven't talked to you in a while. How is Nicole? What is she doing now?

Annette,
My daughter Erin, also graduated 7/25. I'm guessing that the girls might have known each other. Did Nicole make any really good friends. Wondering if the girls can rally around her and cheer her on. ERin is in Pensacola now. She sounded down last night when I talked to her. She said that she hasn't "connected" with any of the girls. I think it was a big disappointment since she made a couple of really good friends in BC. Would you mind if I encouraged Erin to contact Nicole and to offer her some encouragement?
