I know he's in good hands and hope his adjustment to structure wasn't a terrible shock to him. LOL He sure needs it. At his point I am not sure what he is doing, he said he was going in as a reserve but to me what is the point of that. Being at home and going to school!! ?? I want him on the Ship experiencing the world
What a small world , you were born in Alhambra! I am trying to think where the hospital was. Oh well I can't remember. Six weeks before you receive letter. Yikes. But it is what it is. Darn by that time it's close to graduation, ok talk to you later you have a great day. Bye

Hi April,
I am a new N4M. I was asking if there was any Mom's in the So Cal area, and I went on to your page and saw your comment about Going Nowhere. My son is 20 and last June he finally said "Mom" I was thinking " I am thinking Oh Great Son, what is wrong with your X box or some type of Video Game discussion now! LOL He said I thinking about joining the Military, and months previous he had said " I am not blank blank joining any Military, It was either Military or College. He had no inspiration what so ever. So, with his comment my husband has a friend "Navy Recruit: two days later, he joined, but he had to wait six months for BC. He left a week ago Thursday. I haven't received a call. I am anxiously awaiting his letter. At this point all I know is that he's in bootcamp and don't know what else he'll be doing afterwards. When do you know?

Dear April,
How are you doing? This Navy for moms is such a blessing.
Don't you love our kids, they can break our hearts. I'm going through something now with my Sailor, Kim. I need to go to Chicago and smack her in the head.!! HAHA!!
I can't figure teenagers out. We, the parent will do anything for them, we try to advise them, help them out, and they take it as if we're the enemy!! UGH!!
I have three children. My oldest, we fight, but I know I'm closer to her. The other two, have no use for me, I know it.
I hope and pray, that things smooth out with Deon and you.
I hope to hear from you again. I am usually around. There are also groups that you can join. There are so many groups for about everyone. HAHA!!
Take care and God bless.

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud, Was relieved, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
As an empty nester, I am learning who I am and how to be by myself, which still isn't easy. I am so proud of my children and look forward to enjoying them as adults.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made
