Profile Information

About me:
I am a single parent of two living in Jamaica. Andre is my first born, my daughter just turned 3yrs old in February. She was born with a heart defect. Andre has been a soldier from birth (practically). He left for Boot Camp February 17, 2009. He will be going to A school at Goose Creek, SC. I think he might be interested in Subs there after. That is, if he doesn't change his mind. I guess we'll see.
I am here to support or represent my:
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Needed to learn more about it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Try to educate yourself about what your child (young man) is going to be getting involved into. Try to learn as much as possible, ask questions, prepare yourself. I always say "Knowledge is Power"
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Andre's PIR is April 17th for div. 922. I'm sure you will hear from Andre soon, a lot of them call home the third week from what I understand. I still have not gotten a letter from Matt. I send a letter every other day and hope he is getting them. I think Matt will be grad and go as he is graduating a wk. ahead of a lot of sailors that reported the same day, which makes me think he needs to leave earlier to start classes in A school. That would mean we will only have a few hours with him. I'll have to wait and see when the grad pack comes. Take care, keep in touch. Jackie
