This is a civilan matter, he needs to take it up with the bank and the police out in town. Recommend he let his COC know what is going on though.

Your welcome Auralei. I forgot to mention to have him get a decent virus control that has protection on it. Also, don't let him be swayed from being angry and prosecuting this, if the guy who did it gives him a sad story.

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
That the pride in my child overrides the sadness of having him gone. He has an amazing opportunity, and I'm so excited for him. Also, patience, patience, and more patience.

A Rough Monday

I don't know why, but I'm having trouble with missing Chris so much today. Random tears this morning. I know he is homesick, and I am homesick for him, too. I feel silly, because I can call him or email him, but it's just not the same as having him here, you know? I guess I just need to get used to this, he will not be within physical reach for the next few years. But there's this selfish part of me that just stomps her feet and says "no, bring my son closer to home". My husband has told me that… Continue

One week of leave left, feeling kindof sad

Chris flies back to GL next Sunday morning, and it hit me today, only one week left. I haven't been able to spend a ton of time with him, due to my work schedule going crazy, both of us getting sick, and him wanting to see all of his friends - good grief, he has a ton of friends! I feel like I maybe spent 3 hours total with him so far, and it's upsetting.

I should *not* complain, we were blessed with a fast-track BC, then he PIR'd on a Wednesday, so we got almost 5 days of overnight liberty wit… Continue

My Sailor is on his way home!

He was scheduled to go on leave and fly out tomorrow, but due to the weather in GL and surrounding areas, they're letting them leave early. He managed to get on a flight tonight and will be here in a couple of hours! I'm so excited! We were so worried that he would be super-delayed or have to do a major layover, but someone was watching out for him, and he got on a fully-booked flight out of O'Hare.

We had so many blessings during PIR week, with us getting him for overnight liberty for so long,… Continue

Happy Thanksgiving, and blessings abound!

PIR was amazing, and inspiring, and just... wow! We had no problems getting from the city to the base, getting through the gates and security took no time at all. The personnel were fabulous, everywhere we went, from the young man who directed us to our parking spot to the USO folks later in the day. I am impressed and thrilled that my son is now a part of such a respectful group of people.

Since he was grad-and-go to GL, we had to wait and entertain ourselves some while waiting for him to call… Continue

The call!!!!

I arrived at O'Hare yesterday right before noon, and my mom was supposed to be arriving an hour later, but her plane got way delayed in OC. So, I got to hang out at the airport and pretend I was Tom Hanks in "The Terminal" lol... kidding, but it was a long wait.

I was over in International, where I could eat and people watch, when I got a cell call with that area code, and it was my baby. "Mom? Mom, I did it, I'm a sailor, Mom, I did it!". I proceeded to cry and laugh and dance right in the mid… Continue

Hi, Lisa! How are things going? How is Chris and Cameron? Stephen is on his first cruise but it's more of a fun cruise from what I can tell, St. Lucia, Argentina, Brazil, etc. He comes back in Aug. I think.

I haven't been online a lot lately. I just can't seem to keep up with all of the extra things I'm learning to do lol! I still would love to get together some time. Just let me know.

Hmmmmmmmm!Maybe they sent it to your son, thinking he would reply with "yes this is my mom, please add her" or something of that nature????? I don't know, some of this seems to be so much harder than necessary!!! I hope something works out for ya soon, don't give up!!! ~Re

Ok, I did it!!!! I called FFSC and got the Ombudsman info. Called the Ombudsman & gave her my info. She emailed & asked me to reply with an email back confirming that the email info was correct & that I was requesting to be added to her list!!!! As far as the ship's website and being added to that email list, she said that only your sailor can get you added to that list. Good luck, keep me posted!!! ~Re

Hope your weekend was a good one. Ours was busy, but nice. I knew about the Ombudsman group online, but just been confused with how to proceed. Let me know if you have any luck with anything. I have kinda given up for now. I have so much here at home to deal with over the next few weeks. (I still have two teens at home & it's the end of the school year; tons of projects due & banquets to attend, etc.). Let me know if you have any luck with Fleet & Family Services in Norfolk. Best of luck to ya!~Re

Lisa: I have had no luck whatsoever with being approved by the webmaster for the ship's website. I am hoping & praying that before the ship deploys everything falls into place. I am frustrated that nothing has worked. My sailor doesn't know who the Ombudsman is, or how to contact them. I hate nagging at him about things of this nature, I know that he is super busy. Is there any way that your father could go to bat for you with getting you approved? I don't understand why they make this so hard. I am not trying to do anything wrong or put our sailors at risk. I just want to make sure that I will be kept up-to-date when he is underway. Good luck, let me know if anything changes for you & I will do the same!!! ~ Re
