Hi All. I'm new to So Cal moms. My son is a corpsman, now stationed at 29 Palms. I live in Laguna Niguel half the year, and Philadelphia the other half. I'll be back in CA. at the beginning of July, and be there until the end of August. If anything…

Hi Jenne- Not sure if we'll make it tomorrow night. We will try, but don't worry about ordering food for us. I'd love to meet everyone, but if not tomorrow, then definitely Wed. Congrats to all the Sailors and their families!!!

That's a great idea Sherry. Robb had a tv stolen at CS school, and a computer stolen from the carrier he was on. It's hard to believe that this stuff happens.

By the way...I just remembered I can't send you any private mail until you accept me as a friend. Once you do that, I'll send my number to you.

Barbara ~ I don't think this site was here when Robb first enlisted. It's a little over a year old. I don't know what I would've done without it.

Thanks for the info on where to sit. I've texted Morgan asking him if he knows Robb. Morgan knows Robb. They've been together since A-school. Finally! A mom whose son knows mine. Morgan just texted back that Robb's a pretty cool guy. Thought his mom would like to know that.

I don't know where Morgan whill be assigned. All he knows is he'll be with the 1st Marine div. Is 29 Palms where they all go for Combat Mgmt Training? I'm sure he'll find out on Wednesday after graduation. Another mom who doesn't like thinking about their son being deployed. You're amongst an enormous number of mom's who feel the same way!

I'm so sorry to hear about your knees. It sounds like you'll be traveling alone. Where are you staying? I can send you my cell number through private mail. That way, you can call me and we'll see if we can find each other at graduation. I'd love to meet Robb. Maybe he could tell me a few stories about Morgan.

If you don't know how to check your private mail, look in the upper right corner of your page. Under your user name you'll see an envelope and then 'inbox'. Click on that and it will take you to your private mail. Only you can see these messages.

Hey Barbara. We are from Philly also. Born and raised. We only been here 13 years. I spoke to my son a minute ago. He is really saying he may go to Japan. Yikes for me.

Oh Barbara, I bet it was an amazing adventure to see the world. How wonderful. That is a blessing. I wish your son the best and a safe return to see him family again soon. My son had mentioned when we went to GL for PIR that he would aim for VA. You know that was as far as I thought he would go or want to. Then he told me about Japan. I thought oh. How will I see my child? I have never flown anywhere. He has done so much more than me already. When he comes home Memorial day weekend, that will be like his 5-6 time on a plane. I am proud. But VA would be great. He would be in driving distance. But I can understand it is nothing like seeing the world. He don't have to be afraid of travelling like me. I can only keep praying for all of them to enjoy what they are doing and come home to their families safe again. ttyl.

Barbara, how did your son like Japan? My son is saying he may be deployed to Japan. he does not want to go as he says he don''t speak the language. I told him most of them don't. I don;t know if that is on his dream list as I hear it is called, but my understanding is if he does well in the A School, he will just about be able to pick any place he wants to wants to go. Is that true?

Barbara. Thanks. You should be very proud. It is amazing for your son's accomplishments. Seems the Navy has done very well with him. I pray my son has as much success. When I talk to moms like you it certainly gives me hope for my son. I was concerned for him as most moms. You have enlightened my spirit, as very much good does come out of them servicing our country. If my son would not have joined he may very well just be working at the local Rite-Aid with no real future or skill. It was a push to get him to enroll into college. He went to a military school and some of them of them did not choose the military. I can really appreciate what all the accomplishments your Sailor has had and that you are able to share with moms like me. Thanks Barbara.
