Our son, Michael, joined the Navy in 2006. He went to the nuclear school in Charleston and is currently stationed on the USS Chicago based at Pear Harbor.

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Not to worry. We had raised Mike properly and that he can make good decisions on his own.

I was especially interested to know of the educational opportunities that would be open to Mike as a result of the training he wa going to get in the Navy.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hello,
I did an advanced search and I saw that you live in Danville like me. My went in the Navy 1 1/2 years ago. He is at Goose Creek and hopes to do subs and go to Pearl Harbor. Its nice to hear of someone with a sailor that has been enlisted and in the same program longer than my son. Are you going to any meet and Greets?

I haven't been on for so long. Stephen & his girlfiriend came home over the 4th weekend. It was so good to see him again! As for the girlfriend, I figured 3 months, after he was back. It ended when they got back to Honolulu. 21 yr olds have to learn that you can't change anyone else. If it is to work, you can only change yourself. Stephen is re-upping. He just got back and wants to know why we aren't making arrangements to go there. Go figure.

Stephen's off the boat and went home to clean and while he was there he learned on e of the neighbors saw the guys the took the car. I think they live nearby, Stephen actually just now found his car when returning from lunch, it was parked on a side street, the stereo is missing and some new dents but at least he found it. The police should be there any minute to invstigate. He's one lucky kid.

he's a navigator on the boat, I'm sure they know each other. My son lives in Mililani, I visited last year and I thought it was a bad neighborhood but you never know

we sure will be at homecoming. we cant wait. Im packing already. The last time I talked with Nick i had to let him know his grandfather had passed away. He was alittle upset. We dont have any plans for the week except help him find a place to live. lol.see you soon

It's fine..I sometimes forget to check it because I come up to my room very tired..lol.. And I'm trying to get as much sleep as possible before he gets here..lol.. I have found a couple other members to talk to but not many..i got one yesterday at like 2 in the morning and i haven't gotten one since....=( ya..tell me about..when they port it can be a good thing when you get a call or a not so good thing b/c u dont hear from them..My BF went into subs but he said it isn't what he thought it would be like..but it's ok.. of course I will keep in touch..but you have to keep in touch as well..lol =D Hugs, Rene'

I talked to Alecia nothing she can do about the situation, I have been loosing sleep over this since I got the news. it's so hard being so far away and you can't do anything to help

he is also stationed @ Pearl Harbor..he is qualifying for his dolphin pins i think..but this is the 1st deployment and it sux....
