Chris, I hope you are right. I am so supportive of Navy Blue. I am NOT supportive of blue politics (democrat idiotic policies), or the spread thereof. Happy news...my sailor in Iraq is about a month away from heading back to the U.S. ! He is a str...

What the heck is "paint colorado blue"? Please please please don't tell me that it's political. We don't need that because it will divide us. I personally want to paint Colorado RED. I hate one party rule because it will ruin our state, as well as...

Profile Information

About me:
I'm a very proud mom.
I am here to support or represent my:
Craig
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted, Overseas
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Was proud, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
That he is finding his way to adulthood
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, This was the best decision he/she could have made
Thanks, Judy. A funny family story: Long before Craig enlisted in the Navy, we got two puppies. Since we wanted them to go on the old houseboat with us on Lake Powell, we named them Nimitz and Halsey, after the admirals. It would have been a great laugh if our son had been deployed on the Nimitz. Fortunately, Craig is able to call every few days from his various locations in Iraq, which is wonderful. He can't talk about what he does, and he never knows how long he will be at a location, so it's hard to send him mail. This will be the first Christmas in 3 years that he won't be able to get home. Next May will not come too soon.
Thanks for your good thoughts. Hope your Christmas in GWS is wonderful.

vacuum storage bags are great!

Hi everyone, I am happy to tell you that the pillow survived the trip! lol. My son bought a really comfy pillow from amazon, and we had to forward it from here, since amazon didn't mail to apo addresses. The pillow arrived here in a HUGE box. We put in into a storage bag that you suck the air out of with a vacuum and it was amazing that it would then fit in a large size flat rate USPS mailing box (new rate $12). We should also to tell you that we resorted to using the shop-vac for extra suction,… Continue

Hi Barb,
One last question (for now anyway) Did anyone from the command in GA contact you since he's been gone? Ryan said his command would contact me so that I know what's happening. But to date not a word.

Hi Barb,
Just a little note to say hi! I was thinking about you and Craig and wondering how the 2 of you were doing?? Does he have a date yet to come home??
We are ok Sami is finally getting her "Badge" so hopefully there will be a class starting soon so she can get moving forward. It's been a long wait! She has been cleaning "that's her job" so I told her chin up when you get out you can start your very own janitorial business!! She didn't think that was funny but I got a kick out of it!! Well just wanted to say hi!
Talk to you soon,
Tammie

Hi Barb,
So nice to have met you on Sunday!! We really did have a great time. I sent Samantha Craig's info again so she can get in touch. She has a hard time hooking up her computer on that base so it may be a while. Thanks again. Hope to talk with you soon.

Hi Barbara!
I saw your thread on CO Moms About sewing. I'm a quilter. I don't do much sewing of clothes although if I'm shown how to make some of those items I could try to see what they com out like. Are you going to be at the gathering today? If so find me and we'll talk!

Tammie, My son Craig will see if he can help Sam make some connections. You will need to email me for his contact, as this forum discourages last names. I sent you my email to your homepage.

Hi Barb,
Thanks for the comment!! I'm just so lost as to how to help Sam!! She has really had a rough time in the Navy and nothing seems to go her way! She just moved from the Air Base after losing her Air Crew job down the street for her new job as CTT. I guess she is hearing horror stories about her job and the kids on that base are not very friendly!! There are 12 girls in her "pod" and none of them will even talk to her or show her around so that's not helping matters. As for the job she says all she will do is stare at a radar screen and that's not what she was told when they reclassed her. Anyway any info would be great as I'm at a loss!! LOL!
God Bless your son!! How is he doing?? Do you get to talk to him much?? How does he like his job? I will put you both in my prayers.
God Bless your day,
Tammie
