About me:
I am a mental health therapist working mostly with children & parents, which I love. I am a Christian & very active in the music ministry of my church - ladies' singing group, church choir (alto), flute in the instrumental ensemble, handbells. God has blessed me with a loving husband of 25 years & 2 fantastic sons, Chris who has just started his sophomore year at High Point Univ. in High Point, NC, & Bobby who just shipped off to bootcamp yesterday. We have a sweet dog & 2 cool cats. I like gardening & strive to eat vegetarian & on good days, vegan.
I am here to support or represent my:

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Was confused, Needed to learn more about it, Was proud, Was relieved, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
I am such a new Navy mom that I haven't had time to learn much yet but already I have learned more than ever to let go & trust God to do what I can't - strengthen & protect my beloved son.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger

Hi Beth, I'm so sorry to hear that your son is on Ship 17...I sent you a friend request so that we can discuss your son's situation by private message...I learned not to put a great deal of personal information on the site about my son...this is a trying time but with the support & prayers of all the mom's on the site you will get through this...I will help in any way possible...

Hi Beth, thank you for asking me to be one of your friends. I just read that your son was put in the hospital and then sent to Ship 17. May I ask what happened? Did you initially know that he was admitted to the hospital? If you do not want to tell me on the site, please feel free to p.m. me. I see that you have quite a bit of faith and God, and you are going to need to put your trust in him, in order to make it through this ordeal. Beside the Ship 17 group, there are also some lovely groups too, The Prayer Wall, Some extra Support for our Recruits, and much more.
My son was on Ship 17 and is finally coming home this Wednesday, he went to bootcamp March 4th, but we were able to persevere with the wonderful help and support and prayers from the N4M. My son's circumstance is unusual, but the emotions that we as parents go through is not, nor what our child goes through either. I thank God, that my son has handled things so well thus far. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

You too Beth. Try to get some sleep and call legal early. They will call him in, and when they do, let him call you back so you caan find out what is going on. When they call back from legal, they have more time to speak, and are often put in a room alone so they are free to talk. They are rushed when they call from Ship 17, for they are usually supervised, and not able to speak freely. I noticed David a Ship 17 grad is still on line, he might be able to answer more questions.

Hi Beth, so sorry your son was in the hospital and now is in Ship 17. Do you know why he was in the hospital, and why he is in Ship 17?I have the telephone numbers and links you will need posted at the top of Ship 17 moms.If you wish to discuss it privately, we have a private message system. cllick under the icon for the person, where it says friends request. I sent one to you which will show as a little person near the top of the page, left side. The envelope next to it lights up when a friend sends you a message, you click the little envelope and the message is revealed. To send a message after the friend is accepted, under the person's pic on their page is a spot that says send a message.
Tonite you can't do anything. You can call legal for all the paper work goes there for separations. Their number and hours are at the top of Ship 17 Moms. He needs to sign a release to allow legal to discuss his case with you.
Read thru the Ship 17 info, and you will get a good picture of what to expect.Best wishes, take a deep breath and take it one step at a time.
