Hello Bobbie, i am one of CT moms group members, i'm not a mom but a wife, I live in the navy houisng off base with my husband and son. If you need anything that I could help with I will. I know how excited you must be to see your son graduate. = )

Navy lodge is nice I hear, its's not too far from base.. I have never stayed there. I read some of your posts to Sheila and yes a lot of the hotesl up here are very shady/sketchy I stayed at Flagship inn, Days inn the second time and then Hampton inn the 3rd... I wouldn't reccommend ANY of them...

Like I said I hear Navy lodge is nice. If you need a ride from the airport I am always home. Just keep me posted. = )

Good morning Bobbie.
One of our CT Navy Moms, Kim literally lives right down the street from the base. Her hubby is retired Navy. I have been down there to visit with Kim and there seems to be a lot to do down there. However I think Kim would be the best person to contact for info - she has been there a while so knows the 'hot' spots to go to!! I will e-mail her and have her look you up or better yet find her under my FRIENDS on my page here and contact her. The base is about 1:20 from the airport. I live just a few miles south of Bradley and make frequent trips to Groton so expect a little under an hour and a half. You can check AMTRAK and see if they offer service to Groton from Windsor Locks. If I didn't have plans Friday to be in MA I would drive you down to Groton myself. If things change I will let you know. You are coming in after 9am Friday?

Hi Bobbie! Sheila posted a note on our CT site about you wondering about the Navy Lodge in Groton. I cannot speak directly about the Groton NL but we have stayed in several different ones while visiting our son where ever he was stationed.
We have always been very happy with every NL we stayed at. Always clean inside and out. We have always had two queen or double beds. They have a galley with a small fridge, microwave, stove, toaster, posts & pans, dishes etc. we always stock the fridge with soda or iced tea and some milk. I grab some groceries from a local store and cereal so we can eat breakfast or have snacks in the room. the rooms are only like $62 a night - no tax or surcharges added - we think it's a bargain!! Your son would have to sponsor you when u get there since the NL is on the base itself.
That's just my 2 cents for what it's worth!! Welcome to CT!!

Hello dear friend! How is Michael? What part of being a Chef is he most interested in? Jorge does ice, vegetable, and fruit carvings/displays also. The sculpting is a natural ability, but we always go to the seminars/classes for 4 days at the Texas chefs Association annual convention. do you think you will go to Dallas for the Navy for Moms paint the town blue get together? Its going to be huge, probably bigger than New York, I would think.

Hi Bobbie,
When I got the box I was by myself. I opened up the front door and there it sat. I could not go get it for a while. When I did open it, I was still crying. Yes the smell, it was great!! On the form letter he did write a couple of lines so that was nice and helped..a little. Tomm. will be 1 week. It sure seems like 5 or more weeks!! Thank you for writing me, it truly does help.

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
My husband and I did a great job and my son is a fine young man!!!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
The Navy has a lot to offer
The Crosswalk
We complain about the cross we bear but don't realize it is preparing us for the dip in the road that God can see and we cannot.

Whatever your cross,
whatever your pain,
there will always be sunshine, after the rain....
Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall;
But God's always ready, to answer your call....
He knows every heartache, sees every tear,
a word from His lips, can calm every fear...
Your sorrows may linger, throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish, by dawn's early light...
The Savior is waiting, from heaven above,
to give you His grace, and send you His love.
May God fill your day with blessings!!
