About me:
My son is 20 years old and he left for boot camp on October 1st. He will be graduating on November 26th, the day before Thanksgiving. I cant wait to see him. He's been gone for almost 6 weeks now and i still have not talked to him. He has called about 3 times and i have missed his calls each time for one reason or another. I am so upset because i have been waiting by the phone the last 3 Saturdays (that's the day of the week he has always called on) and i have heard nothing. I dont know if he is not allowed to call or if there is a problem. I know i really miss him though.
I am here to support or represent my:
Tim
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Needed to learn more about it, Was proud, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
I'm still a pretty new Navy mom. I have not really had a chance to learn anything yet as i have not yet talked to my son.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
This was the best decision he/she could have made

Brandi,
Hope the holidays were good for you. How was Chicago in November? Hope everything went well. This was our first Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's without my Sailor. But that's ok we made it through. It probably was harder on him than us. Scott is a sonar tech on a sub. He loves his job. I haven't been on my website but hope to get back into the swing and make some friends. Hope to talk again soon. Take care.

So, enjoy your time here and I'm looking forward (along with the community) to reading more about you. :D

Brandi,
The same thing happened to me. I waited by the phone and didn't get the call. But when I left I would get a message on the answering machine. My sailor finally asked if he could call my cell phone and that is what he did.It was the only number he could remember. It is hard in the beginning. Scott has been in almost two years. It is scary at first but you do become accustomed to him being gone. Just think you will be able to visit where ever he is stationed. Good luck and it will be a Thanksgiving you will never forget.Enjoy!
