About me:
Well, I'm really shy when it comes to talking to people I don't know, or haven't talked to before. So if I don't talk to you right away, I'm sorry! But I'll toughin' it out and start getting out there. :]

Breeanna--Cody just called about an hour ago to say he won't be graduating this week. He re-injured his leg during his run today and is now in a medical holding unit. He said he'll be on crutches for a week and then start retraining again. He said it could take another 3 weeks. He said the new address is
Ship 06
3510 Illinois Street
Great Lakes, IL 60088-3119

Just keep writing to him until we know anything more. He said he gets to call on Tuesdays. I'm sad but he sounded optimistic and ready to get through this, I told him it's OK and it's only a set back and all that matters is that he graduates at some point.

From what I can hear he sounded down about it. The phone was breaking up because I'm at work and the reception isn't great on my cell phone here. He said he can try again tomorrow, from what he said it didn't sound like he was hurt. He was talking really fast and mumbling so it was hard for me to understand what he was saying. He said that it was lap 9 and he fell and they wouldn't let him continue. He said that he was on time with it though, so I hope he's able to pull through tomorrow. I'll keep you updated if I hear anything tomorrow.

Thanks for sharing that Breeanna--he doesn't get as detailed in my letters. I'm so glad he's reading the bible--I am so happy about that! I was hoping he was attending church service while he was there. He told me on the phone that he was doing OK with all the physical tests--I don't think he wants me to worry about it. I hope he's able to do it--he'll just have to push himself--I heard there are alot of others with the same problem so I shouldn't worry about it too much.

I hope you get to feeling better. There is alot of sick people coming into work lately. We've seen more patients each night than we have in a long time. Hopefully they can figure out what's going on. Sometimes it's hard to tell with migraines. Sometimes they'll want to rule out anything life threatning so that's probably why they want to run some tests.

Well thanks again for sharing! When your feeling better would you mind sharing the verse he shared with you? Take care! Janet

Did you get your letter today? I got mine--he said he was doing well and he was getting excited about graduation. Said he wants to drive the car after graduation because he misses driving. He didn't say much, it was only half a page. Hoping you heard something more? I wish we could take you with us to graduation--at least he'll be home soon for the holidays.

I'm so happy you got your call too!! Isn't it great!! I've been crying off and on since the call! I know it came up as Omaha, Nebraska on my phone too. Must have something to do with his calling card? I'm so glad your dad finally answered!! I was shocked when I heard his voice on the other end, I was totally expecting a telemarketer or something. I keep thinking of things I should have asked or talked about but it was like a big whirlwind! I'm so glad neither of us missed our calls today!!

Did you get a phone call this morning!?! He called around 10a.m and I didn't miss the call this time! He sounded really good and grown up! He really is liking it there now and they're doing really well as a division. He said they have won every flag so far--they have won 4 out of 5 and they're going to try and win them all. I'm so happy. I hope he got a hold of you--he said he was going to try and call his dad after I talked with him--but I tried calling his dad and his phone is off.

Oh and I'm doing so much better now that I know he is. It feels good to not have to worry so much anymore. I'm sure he'll have the opportunity to come here after starting A school and he'll have a holiday break for Christmas. I know he'll want to see everyone after graduation--but he'll have to learn that sometimes good things are worth the wait.

Hey thanks for the response. I hope he knows that he's not allowed to go beyond a 50 mile radius of Great Lakes during that weekend. He will get into major trouble if he gets caught. Plus he will most likely have to be back at the base by a certain time each night. We won't know what the case will be until we get there. I'm not gong to tell him any different, he'll find out soon enough.;-) Well I'm glad he's sounding better--I was almost afraid to open mine as well.

He Breeanna! Did you get a letter today? I got one yesterday and he sounded like he was doing sooo much better! He said his leg is fine now and he should make his run with no problem. He said that he is set to graduate on time. He also said his job will be MM (machinest mate) and I looked it up and seen that his training will be in GL so that's good--he won't be far away! He said they have a drill test friday and he's hoping they'll win another flag. Other than that he said they were all doing good now. I'm so happy he sounds positive.

Thanks Breeanna! I'm happy that you're thinking of joining, it's such a great opportunity--If I were young again I would join myself. You can be anything you want there---There are alot of doctors at my work who have gotten their start in the service and with them footing most of the bill it's a wonderful opportunity. I hope Cody takes full advantage of the paid college tuition that they offer. So glad that your recruiter was his too--they seemed to really care about what was happening to them and helped him out of big mess. Well talk to ya soon! I'm on high alert since tomorrow is Saturday and that's when he called the last time.
