About me:
I am a divorced Mom with two boys. I have a 24 year old still living at home, thankfully. He graduated college and has a good refinery job. He is saving for his own house.
My younger son, Derek, PIR'd on February 15, 2008.
He is now a MA and stationed in Virginia.
We live in Southeast Texas. I am a high school algebra teacher.

From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Encourage other people to keep in contact with your child. My son appreciated letters from everyone - not just his friends and relatives.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
