Profile Information

About me:
I am a new...but PROUD... Navy mom! My son Cody left for BC on Dec 16th, 2008 out of Houston. We are in College Station, TX. He is the youngest of my two sons. At first he was going into the IT program as he has extensive training from high school in this area....but, he got to looking at the Nuke program, took the test and got in with no problem. Something new to learn!

Hold onto the tears...and keep telling him How PROUD I am of him!

Hi Brenda, how are you doing? How's Cody? I talked to Joel last night...we're down to about 2 phone calls a week. He's so busy with school, studying, inspections etc....sounds a little overwhelmed but still in really good spirits. Says time management is the most important thing and finding the best plan takes some practice. They certainly have to fit a lot into one day! I hope all is well with Cody.

I haven't talked to you in a long time. how are you and Cody doing?
Daniel is on hold and is pretty sick. You know, when one gets it, they all do.
I send a package of cold medication and some goodies he requested.
His Dad has a business trip on March 16th so him and his girlfriend are going to visit Daniel. This should lift my son's sprits.

Hi Brenda! That was good stuff you just posted on the group forum. I especialy like the underware thing! LoL Cause when I talked to my son on the phone I told him I would bring him clothes for him for the wekend (Cool Regular Clothes) and he said "absolutly not".. they are not alowed to wear any Civies during this wekend and one more peice of info that I gatherd from my friend whos daughter just went thru this in October was, everyware you go there is "Navy" Example, they went out to breakfast and Lindsey had her hat on and an older NAVY person siting in there said: Take your "hat" off SAILOR!! I thought that was cutet!! So they have to wear their uniforms and coat the whole wekend...Hey less for me to think about..~SANDY~

Hi Brenda, just wanted to drop in and say hello. Pretty soon we will all be there. I am so emotional, I have no idea how to center myself. This isa new experience for me. it's not like he went to college and I can go see him when I want. I hope your doing well and have some peace, as yet, I haven't found mine yet. Maybe once I can see his face and hold him, I'll be OK.

We are also arriving on Thurs. but leaving on Sun. - I am going to meet and greet - hope we'll see each other while we are there - I have husband, daughter, Ben's girfirend and little 4 year old with me , so look for us at hotel !!!!!!

Hi Brenda! I was able to reserve a room at the Great Lakes Motel - doesn't sound like a great place but for two nights I'll deal with it. I'll be meeting my daughter in law there and will have my son's cell so I should have everything covered! I'll be the one in the 1950's fake mink coat - LOL - I was delighted to find that today, fun fake fur and very warm. Still have some shopping to do!

Hey Brenda - DId you not say that you were staying at Springhill Suites? That's where we are staying because I wanted an indoor pool for my grandaughter and the place had real good reviews on trip advisor.

Hi Buddy,
I have to tell you the truth, I have been crying night and day and I don't have any idea how I'm going to make it thur this without falling to pieces. Everytime I try to talk about him, I have to stop, take a deep breath as not to cry. I think people are starting to think I'm crazy. I ask myself, how could they even begin to understand a Mother's heart? But, one things that is so nice, I know I have other Mom's that totally understand. I'm so grateful to have a place to come and share my feelings freely.

Ps If you see a little short blonde lady crying her eyes out and hugging her son so tight that he is turning blue at the graduation, it's me, lol, lol I've added a lot of pic's so hopefully you will be able to reconize me.
