Hi Brian...I have a daughter (Stacey) she just received word yesterday. Her ship out date is April 19th to OCS. I'll pass on any information that might be helpful as I receive it.

- Brian: Hi, I got your name from the event site for the potluck on March 7th. Wanted to let you know that there will be a picnic on April 4th. My son's recruiter called today and they are scheduling a DEPpers Zone Picnic and asking Navy 4 Moms/ Navy 4 Dads to attend. It will be a Cortez Park (35th Ave & Cactus) I'll get it posted this weekend when I have more information.

I know of some moms who have organized events to include their spouses, so I'm sure something will come up. We have an AZ group on the NavyDads site with only a few members thus far. We're planning to have a get together eventually.

Welcome to N4M's!! You've done a great job of setting up your page and you did it so quickly! My son Billy is currently in Great Lakes finishing up his last week or so of A-School for IC (Interior Communications Electrician). He just received his verbal orders for San Diego and will be on the destroyer USS Howard (DDG-83) following his C-School.
I noticed that you signed up to attend the potluck at Hiromi's on the 7th. I will be attending also and I look forward to meeting you there. I also wanted to mention to you that there is a NavyDads web site. The membership there is much smaller than N4M's, but it is growing at a pretty good rate. There is a great group of dads and moms as well as other family members. I also joined NavyDads to add to the wonderful support that I get here. Check the site out when you have time.
Good luck to Erin with her application process.

My respect for Erin (Daugher) has already reached a new level, and she is just beginning the Application process for OCS. Sitting in the OR's office yesterday (Mon., 2/23/09) , I was struck by her professionalism and poise. She is definately a "chip off the OLD block", and is showing a determination that has already made her dear old Dad extremely proud.
Of course, the road ahead will be filled with so many emotions on so many levels...I probably can not begin to imagine the intensity of the emotions that are sure to come.
I am ready to stand beside and behind her, no matter what.
Again, thanks, and I wish the best for your son/daughter and your entire family.
