About me:
OK...I am editing this AGAIN because things are moving along. I am 45 years old and from Ohio. I have two children, the oldest, Trish is 23...she made me a young grandparent in 2006. My grandson, MIkey is two and a half years old. I love being a grandma. He calls me NONNY. My son, David, is an information systems technologist in Norfolk, VA on the USS WASP. He has been in the Navy since January 2008. He is a newly wed at age 20. His wife lives off base with him. I am an army veteran myself....and exploding with pride with his decision to enlist. We went to see him graduate from GLTC Easter weekend last year...yes, the weekend of the white out blizzard. It was loads of fun. I am a newly wed on my second marriage...I am now with my true soul mate. Together we enjoy bike riding, golfing, reading, and spending time at our time share in the Sarasota area. I do a little crafting, and sew and quilt with my oldest sister, and my daughter. I am a nurse. I work with a three year old boy on a ventilator at his home. I have been enjoying the website tremendously, and believe I have made some lasting friendships as a result of this site. Friends: EMAIL ME!!! sm00chie@neo.rr.com The 0's are zeros

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
That my son can wake up before 2pm...hahaha. I learned how much my son loves me and appreciates our family. (through his letters) I think he just learned this too. ALSO....that you can make friends when you least expect it. I have made some AWESOME friends on here already!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

I was searching to find other moms that had been in the Army. I see that you were in the Army and you are 44 like me. :) I'd love to hear about your Army days. My basic was at Ft Dix May 83. Then stationed in Ft Eustis, VA.

Several people have asked...so here is the website where I ordered the Mariner's Cross pendant. They have many to choose from, but I liked the simplicity of the one I purchased, and how the Cross seems to be the focus. http://www.seawear.com/jewelry/anchors.html

Just viewing your quilt, what a work of art and something your sailor should be proud of. Looking at your pictures and also wondering where you got that anchor necklace. Jeanine

Hey there Candace, How are you? Things have become very busy here since the summer semester of class started. I also was hired by Fairview PRN, I haven't started just yet. Stu should be done with A-school in about 3 weeks. I would love to see Davids quilt, since we talked last I finished Stu's. I am off on Fridays from school let me know if we can get together soon so I can see your quilt and you can see mine. Catch you later. JILL

Hi Candace...just checking to see how David is doing. Zack is still in GL doing ATT. He's moving next week from his present room - to another room - still in GL. It's not like he has to rent a U-Haul or anything! lol You changed your bio... enjoyed reading more about you. - Patty
