Profile Information

About me:
I HAVE A US NAVY SAILOR NOW!!
I HAVE A FULL FLESH SEABEE!!!
I now have an E-4 Seabee. He passed the E-4 advancement test Nov. 2009, just 16 months after joining the Navy!

I am a single mom with 2 great boys.

Marc left on 17th of July, 2008, for boot camp.
He was in Div. 361, Ship 5. PIR was Sept. 26th.
Attended "A" school in Port Hueneme, CA which started on Oct.16th. Graduated on Jan. 22, 2009!

Now Marc is home for the Navy Reserves. Will see what he will be doing with his life now. Has a job with juvenile detention dept. part time while going to school and doing drill weekends each month.

Marc is a Seabee, Construction Mechanics (CM).

Marc graduated in June 2009 with an AA in Automotive Technology from the local community college. He is taking criminal justice classes fall term 2009.
My older son is a 4th year dental student in Portland, OR.

As of July 1, 2008, I had worked for over 30 years. I got fired and wasn't given a reason. So life is difficult for me right now trying to find a job, Marc leaving for boot camp, going to "A" school, and now with Marc home again.
As of Nov. 2009, still don't have a job But.........life keeps going.

I have a wonderful dog named Button. Button always misses Marc so badly. They are buddies!
I am here to support or represent my:
Child/Stepchild
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
To have patience. Life will come as it will come. That I just need to take each day at a time. Not to worry about the future, but also life for today!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi Carol. Thanks for the kind words. She is doing really well. They took out the stitches and she is already on the mend. I think it scared her more because she wasn't guarded off base. (did not stay alert to it) you are always watching everything around you when deployed but off base but she didn't stay alert. Hope all will remember to watch for the bad guys at home too. Be careful out there. Sending prayers that all our soldiers will stay safe where ever they are. Also the families. We moms have enough to worry about!

Does he know when or has this already happened? I have not been logged on for some time, so I am really out of the loop. Hope everyone is well. Connie

I Carol, had to come by to let you know your son sounds more like our daughter was a few years back, 'til worse came to worse and had to close the bank of mom and dad so she could grow up. Grow up she did, and into a bit of a tight wad (just like her Mom, she says).
I'm new to the site and wandering through all the groups, your remarks caught me eye and just had to drop in.
Our son is back on reserve status and hopefully will remain for awhile.

Carol, Josh is thinking about getting his building license. He will probably have to do it on his own, somehow, cuz the unions probably are not going to take on any newbees, but he will try union too. He tells me not too worry, so I hope he has some type of plan.

Glad to hear your son is doing well and hope they will accept him for Active. Josh has also talked about signing back up for active, so I guess we will just have to wait.

I was looking at your pictures. Boys look like they're having fun. You dog is really cute. Take care and let me know what is going on.

Carol, how are you doing? Haven't seen you on Seabee Moms page lately. How is your son doing? Mine should be home the 12th of this month. Can't wait. I guess he doesn't report until April 11th or so for Active Reserves. Hope all is well.

Carol I hope the job search works out for you - we have Craig's list here in Boston - online postions for local companies - we hire a lot of people from that list - do you have anything like that where you live? ~ Joanne
