I can't comment on how sailors keep their uniforms so tidy and tucked, but I do have a Marine and they use 6 garter straps, that hook their shirt tail to their socks. Three for each leg.

-I've had the week off, so I'm going thru all the postings.
-My son scored 98 on the ASVAB and was told he wouldn't have to take the NUKE test. However, he was homeschooled and the Navy required that he take the test. He did fine.

- -I stopped into my office to look at my Marine Moms Group. I had over 500 e-mails between the Marine and Navy Moms. One of the reasons I want to switch all this to the house.

-It is OK to call me at work. I will let you know if I cna't talk. I can generally be reached at home after 6 and I never turn off the cell, in hopes my Marine son will call. It does happen, but not as often as I would like.

We can work on the getting together once school starts too. Even is we just meet for coffee or something before or after dinner. Nothing fancy. Since you know Janice, and I can get a hold of Cathy, here is my phone number. It might be easier to talk that way. 281 320-9525. I know Shane and Reed will not be at BC together, but they will end up at the same school location and as we parents know, it is always nice to see a familiar face.

So it looks like my email didn't go through. We were on vacation so I guess it didn't make it to you. I would love to get together with you and Janice some time. I know she starts work soon-Cathy works at our church on Cypress N. Houston and I work part time for Balfour. Let's see what we can work out--even Friday, Sat or Sun would work for me.

My son Eric completed BC on Aug. 8th of 2008 and has been in Lemoore, CA since Nov. 1 of 2008. He was home the first part of July and that was the first time I had seen him since Nov. Boy, it was a difficult Christmas for me last year. I have never met Janice, but contacted her when Megan first left for BC. My friend Cathy has a son who graduated from CyFair this year and is also going into the Nuke program. He is currently in DEP and is due to leave in November. If Reed graduated this year, he might know him. His name is Shane Beasley--So that makes 4 of us that are really close to each other, we should get together.

-I don't think I will read the Boot Camp Group, to often, until we get closer to his leaving. I did find a Mom there yesterday, whose oldest son is in the Marines, unfortunately she lives in Wisconsin.
-I wonder what those ladies were thinking having a get together on a Thursday, I'm just shakin' my head.
-How are the others? I ran into Ashley at the grocery store this summer and she said she was engaged. When is the wedding? Has Kevin graduated?

We live off of Grant/Louetta, isn't Tower Oaks off Cypress North Houston?
Remind me when your son leaves. Was he also the one in the Nuke program. I have another Cypress friend whose son is in Dep for Nuke--leaves in November. When does yours leave? Did he go through the Willowbrook recruiting office?
