Carolyne: How great that Chris is doing so well....you must be one very proud mom!

I'm glad you're joining in the Recruiter Recognition "card party". If you haven't already...would you go to it on the "Events" page and respond....it's kinda fun to see how many cards we'll get out!

“Being perfect is not about being first or all the right anwsars . It's not about winning. It's about you and your relationship with yourself, your family and your friends. Being perfect is about being able to look your friends in the eye and know that you didn’t let them down because you told them the truth. And that truth is you did everything you could. There wasn’t one more thing you could've done. Can you live in that moment as best you can, with clear eyes, and love in your heart, with joy in your heart? If you can do that - you're perfect

Carolyne: The PIR 7/18 site that Andi started is still active. Navy Dad, Kevin has started a nessage board r/t where our new Sailors will be attending A school. Might just be able to find a parent who's child is in the same place as yours. Check it out. It will be a fun way to keep in touch. Julie

Hi Carolyne,
I love your page...
I was just scanning through the webiste to see others who have Sailors in Pensacola that PIR'd on July 18th. What is Christian going to do in Navy?
My son, Michael will be an ABH (Aircraft Handler) He said he's on hold for about 2 weeks down there. Take care,
Connie

Hi Carolyne,

I did not hear from Bryan this week. Last Wed I got a letter that said he would be really busy these next 2 weeks. I was really bummed when there was no mail this week. I hope that Chris is going to PIR on the 18th? Do you have any information on his injury? My prayers are with you....lately I am getting no work done. I will bring my laptop and hopefully when I am in GL after I see him I can concentrate more.
Hang in there.
Hugs,
Joan

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Was proud, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
I will let you all know in few more weeks. Well its been more then the few more weeks. I can tell few things that I have learned. 1 Write till you cant write any more.
2 Great Lakes flys by in a flash and then they are off agine. In my case he is closer to home ( a good thing)
3 Questions ask Karen G. she was such help to me.
4. Never panic Chis hurt his knee and he still made P.I R.
5. You never stop missing them its a Mom thing !!!!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Waiting for a letter or phone call from Christian.

I sit beside the fire
And think of all that I have seen,
Of meadow flowers and butterflies
In summers that have been.
Of yellow leaves and gossamer
In autumns that there were,
With morning mist and silver sun
And wind upon my hair.

I sit beside the fire
And think of how the world will be
When winter comes without a spring
That I shall ever see.
For still there are so many things
That I have never seen.
In every wood, in every spring
There is a different green.

I sit beside the fire
And think o… Continue

Our Deepest Fear

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we… Continue
