About me:
I am in tech support (like the geek squad) for an intermediate school district and also help teachers to integrate technology in their classrooms. My wonderful husband was in the Navy when we met sailing on the USS Enterprise in the mid 1980's and was a helicopter crewman and rescue swimmer. He's currently a high school principal/football coach. Our Son, Eric, had PIR on January 30th and has finished corpsman A school at Great Lakes. He's at Camp Pendleton doing more training. I'm so proud of what he's done! We have a 17 year old daughter in high school so there is still plenty of drama around the place.
I am here to support or represent my:
Child/Stepchild
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Even though kids like to be independent of Mom and Dad, they really appreciate our letters and support. Showing how proud we are of him and making sure he has lots of mail has mattered alot.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi Cathie ~ Been talking to Bob on Navy Dads so thought I had better introduce myself to you on N4M's! I noticed you joined the Camp Pendleton group. They really are a good group of gals and we rely heavily on each other for info. Usually between us, we can get a pretty good pic of what's happening there. My son, Morgan, had FMTB grad end of May then he went through his two weeks of CTM. If Eric gets to go through that class, you'll get to hear all about pig day. It's equivalent to battlestations at bootcamp. Morgan loved it but was glad to take a shower to get off all the pig blood. In talking to Bob, it sounds like Eric is doing what Morgan did while waiting to class up. Is he the head admin guy? If I can answer any questions for you or whatever, ask away. Pop in and introduce yourself on the CP group.

Hey Cathie! I got home from from Graduation ~ it was wonderful. My husband is home for two weeks liberty. Our kids were shocked when he walked thru the door. It was great. Your son graduates next week, right? Just arrive early ~ they ran out of seats for the family. Yikes!

We just got back home on Monday. Our kids went crazy seeing Daddy! I know they all miss him so much. It was so funny - we went to check him back in on Sunday night & a sailor stopped us and said. "Are all those kids yours?" LOL! It was great! I guess having three kids is considered a big family anywhere but here in Utah. I'm sure we'll get to meet each other next month at graduation. I just can't wait! You'll be able to spot me easily - I'll be the one with the blonde kids saying to them: 'shhh! Be quite! Don't hit your sister! Don't pick your nose! Sit down!" My husband said test 11 was this morning. I can't believe they only have one more to go.

Good evening Cathie! I am in Great Lakes right now visiting my husband. It's so great to see him!

How is Eric doing? Did he pass test 10? My husband said there was a lot of math on it & he hasn't done math since high school! lol

I just got the call - he passed test #8 today! I'm so proud of him. I know my husband is excited to move onto labs. He's such a 'hands on' type of guy.

And I didn't say the 19 year-olds were annoying, I said 'young'. LOL! We are doing great - I know the kids are really missing daddy. It will be so nice for them to see him. I heard they moved graduation up. Are you going out for it? Catherine

Hi! My husband just called to say he has stage 3 liberty now! I can't wait! I just bought our plane tickets to go out again - me and our 3 children. I am so excited to see him again. I miss him so much. My husband had his own room for a couple of weeks, but now has 3 roommates. He just says 'they're really young'. They are all 18 – 19 years old. How did you son do on the "Health and Comfort"? My husband said it was a whole new experience for him - he felt like it was a 'shake down' lol. Talk to you later, Catherine

Cathie, I just wanted to check in with you. How is Eric doing on his tests? My husband said they had quite a few fail #5. I flew out and spent last weekend with him. It was so nice to spend time with him without the kids. I can't wait for stage 3 liberty! lol
Talk to you soon! Catherine
