OMG, you know how to spin your own yarn!!! Girl you rock! I have wanted to learn how for years. We will have to get together one day in the spring and maybe you can show me how. Meantime, take care of yourself...

Hi Cathy. Thanks for joining our group. You certainly have your plate full right now!! Good luck on your dissertation. What is your degree in? My son Paul is a nuke on the Eisenhower. He loves it. If you have any questions I am here for you. Whenever you get settled and can get those knitting needles out give me a heads up. I have wonderful ladies here willing to donate the yarn to make the blankets/afghans. I could hook you up with one of them. In the meantime, don't panic. You are a Navy mom, we can handle anything. Your dissertation will be awesome and the move a piece of cake. Hang in there, you have over 6000 friends on this site supporting. Take care....

Hi, My son, Travis, graduated from Jackson in 2006. His A school was in Gulfport, MS. We live in Shawneetown, that's only a few miles north of you.
Your son's looks familiar. I must have seen him around town, probably at the school.

Profile Information

About me:
Although I have had nephews who have served in the military (Army and National Guard), my son, Michael, is the first of my children to enlist and the only one of his generation to join the Navy. When he first made the decision to join, it took a little getting used to. I had figured that he would go to college like his siblings had done. But now I realize that he will receive a fine education and will have many opportunities as a sailor that he could not have otherwise. We mothers always want what's best for our sons and daughters, and I am convinced that he has made a good choice.
I am here to support or represent my:

Support from home is incredibly important, no matter where my son is stationed.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
The Navy has a lot to offer
