An officer
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Was proud
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
We raise our children and equip them as best we can and then we have to trust them. Of course we know that our son is in the Lord's hands and He will take care of him. Our son got married almost 2 years ago while going through nuclear training and now he has a wife to up hold and encourage him, although our job as parents is never done.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer

Hi Cathy,
Small world - my son is also on the Kentucky! He is still an Ensign, but should get LTjg next month. We've lived in NJ for 14 or so years, previously we were in Williamsburg, VA. I'll email you at your other address and we can talk more.

Cathy,
Thanks so much for the words of encouragment. Just when you start to feel alone .He reminds us that he is always with us. Thank you fo ryour continued prayers. My son needed them and continues to need them. He is struggling with Alcholism . Please pray that the lord will continue to give him the strength to deal with this. My son has many issues that he is dealing with . And I was not aware of these until he came home. He is leaving soon for deployment. I was taken back of all the pain he carries. Truly overwhelmed . But not as much as him.
I know the Lord is in control. But it still hurts to see your baby in pain and in turmoil.
Thanks again
Kim

Nancy,
Yes, he was in the Calvry unit and is studying to be a chaplain. i am so glad that the Chaplain was able to help him out and thanks for praying for our son. It is hard as he wants to get started with his career in the Army buit has to complete his Master's first so is waiting patiently. Was your son in Cav. Company? I would love to know your last name so I can tell my son but we can't mention last names on this site (understandable). You could send an email to cathywiggin@yahoo.com. THANKS!!!!

Hi Cathy, was your son in the Cavalry Company at Norwich? If so, Chris remembers him. Is he the one who is studying to be a Chaplain? God bless him - not an easy job to do. It's good to know that Chaplains are well represented in the armed forces. My brother was in the Marines 25 years ago. His best friend back home was killed in a car accident. The Marines would not give him leave to come home for the services. He just about went crazy and threatened to go AWOL. My parents called and spoke to the Chaplain who met with my brother, and he found a way to get my brother home for the services. My family will never forget that. I'll keep him in my prayers. Nancy

Cathy,
Thank you so much for praying. My son Mattie will be leaving in January. He is going to Afghanistan . He is a corpsmen and has been assigned to a marine weapons unit. So of course he will be on the front lines. I would appreciate it if you could pray for his emotional as well a his spiritual well being. He has struggled for a long time with alcohol abuse and he is young and is not seeking the lord in his life right now. I know the lord is with him and that he will never leave him .But of course we moms.
Thanks again,
Kim

My brother was just selected to be on the presidents transition team. What a great experience. He also entered a documentary in the sundance film festival and was selected. Norwich University was such a good choice in schools
