How nice that you got to be there for Family Day. I enjoyed seeing the photos and will be looking at the Penny Press closely this week. Got an email from Brandon letting us know he was back home now.

Letting Go of "Our little boys" & Allowing them to become MEN.......... yikes!!!!!!

It's not easy, is it Mom's? Separation anxiety is so intense when they first leave for bootcamp. That first call is so brief, you don't know what's going on, how do they feel, are they hungry, is someone yelling at them? You find out weeks later that they have had their wisdom teeth pulled and no one had to asked you to sign a consent, or even tell you about it! Then they are off for specialized training, where will they be now, another adjustment? Finally, they receive their orders.....… Continue

Love your new pictures. I especially like the one with the snowman, that would make a really nice christmas card.
Have a great day...

Hi Charlene, I'm so glad you responded. I haven't had any luck finding other MC moms. My daughter is at Ft Meade and seems very happy with her decision to join the Navy. If I may ask, what does your son do as an MC Specialist? I know that they joined a lot of different jobs under MC. My daughter enjoys writing, making and editing videos and photography. I did take a peek at your photos and they are all nice . That is the Golden Gate Bridge isn't it? I have been to San Francisco a few times and it just happens to be one of my favorite cities. If it weren't for the earthquakes, I would have loved to live there. Such a beautiful state. I read your blog , Letting Go and you said everything I was feeling and thinking when my daughter left for bootcamp. I just had to contact you. So, has it gotten any easier for you? My daughter PIR'd on 12/24/08. As you can probably tell, this is all new to me. Kristin is the youngest of 5 kids and the only one enlisted. Her nationality is Cuban/ Puerto Rican.

Hi Charlene. Nick is and ABF - fueler. He has only been in Everett for a few months, this is his first assignment after A school. Nick will fly home to Phoenix (where we are originally from) on Friday to attend a friends (also Navy) wedding. My husband and I are driving to Phoenix Christmas eve and will spend Christmas day with my daughter and grandbaby then will pick up Nick at the airport Friday night. I can't wait to see him. Nick lost his phone Saturday so we've been struggling trying to get him a replacement, the insurance on the phone is a joke. We can get a new phone once we prove we're not trying to pull a fast one on them. It's annoying the lack of trust these companies have because of the crooked people in this world. Ok....I've gone into too much detail here.
It's good to talk to another Lincoln mom. Have you clicked the link that Barb posted that shows the webcam? Lots of snow in Everett.

Hi Charlene just read ur little boy comment and I cried so true My son went in on sept.,11,07 and I will never forget that month I lost it so many times and sometimes I still break down. I am so proud of him but part of me will always miss the boy who lived home and would call from the cellar wreck room and ask to make him a grill cheese....like we lived in a mansion...lol someone said to durning that first few months isnt it like when ur daughter went off to college NO I can go see her, shes home for the holidays and we can see the progress of them fully growing into adulthood over the 4 summers... I believe this was a great fit for him and am so Proud just hard to let go to the next phase. I look forward to chatting w/you. How is your doing and where is he stationed and his job title? Happy Holidays Marie

Hi Charlene,
I'm Karen down south of you in Placentia. I see your son in on the Lincoln and my son KC is aboard the Davis out of WA. The ship is currently on deployment. I see you've been chatting with Diane (Shawn's Mom) down below. Both of our boys work together.

Happy Holidays!
Blessings, Karen
