Hello, My son has only been on the RR for @ three weeks, and this is his first port stop. I was wondering how long they stay in the port??? Does anyone know? The only reason I know they are in port is because of the emai we get from the commander. W…

Hello, My son is in Pensacola just waiting also. He mentioned that in boot camp he didn't have time to miss home but now he has lots of time to be homesick. I wish they would keep them busy until they actually start class.

Hi Charlene~
Tim is a little frustrated also. I think that it's hard for them to go from bootcamp to having too much time on their hands. He just wants to get started with school.

Hi Charlene!
Just dropping by to say hello! Can you believe that this time next week we will be with our sailors! I am just so anxious and excited. We are driving there so we are leaving Wednesday at midnight..yay only 5 more days I can hardly believe it! I have been waiting forever!
Anyway have you heard anything on when their battlestations are? AJ didnt say anything about it but I have heard the 19th and I have also heard the 20th so I have like no clue. Did Chris tell you anything? Did you get a recent letter from him?
I got my letter yesterday and AJ seemed so upbeat..it was the best letter I have gotten yet:) Although he did say they had alot of extra pt because the divison was bad, go figure! Ah, I guess that is why we havent been recieving phone calls, oh well almost there:)

Hey again!
Haha oh I wasnt quite sure what PF stood for. Isnt their phyical fitness stuff not with their division and its all by themselves? I think its by themselves because AJ said he has passed everything so far so I am hoping his division is finally coming together! Oh man, of all weeks too bad your other kids have finals that week I am sure they would have loved to go:( Wow, that is a HUGE trip. Are you driving or flying? I am from Jersey and we are driving there..its about a 14 hour drive, so we are leaving that Wednesday at midnight. We will be arriving at our hotel around 3 or 4 Thursday afternoon. That is good that you are getting there on Wednesday though because you never know what could happen and its always good to be safe! Well I hope you got your letter today let me know!

Hey!
Aw, I am praying that you recieve your letter tomorrow! I received my letter today, I literally stalk the mailbox until the mail comes and then I run out there..its pretty sad but those letters mean everything to me:) AJ said he is doing really good and he has passed everything so far. What is PF? I am praying that they are doing good too, AJ has not said anything negative about their division not passing anything so I guess that is a good sign. Wow, that is amazing that they won a flag for Academics..I'm sure that will help alot! I have never heard of that hotel but me and AJ's family are staying at the Ramada Inn and its literally like not even five minutes from the base which is great!
Yeah, I am dying for another phone call! How long was your first phone call? Yeah, AJ said that he would probably get to call on Christmas but that obviously didnt happen:( I usually get a letter ever Thursday, so Thursday is like Christmas all over again! Anyway, I am praying that you get your letter tomorrow I'm sure you will:)
Who are you bringing to PIR? Does Chris have a girlfriend? I am going with AJ's mom and dad and one of his sisters. I am just so excited, I cant even explain how excited I am to be in his arms again after all this time, it seriously feels like forever! Anyway, I will talk to you soon:)

Hi Charlene!
I just noticed that my boyfriend AJ, and your son Chris are in the same division! I wish I could have found you sooner, for some reason I had a hard time finding people in division 076! How have you been doing? Can you believe we are down to our last two weeks:) I am so excited and I am just getting more and more anxious every day! I am praying that these next two weeks fly by, but I have a feeling that they are going to DRAG by! I am sure Chris and AJ know eachother:) Have you recieved any recent information about how their division is doing? Have you recieved any phone calls from him? I have only recieved one eight minute phone call since he left, and that was back on Decemeber 19th so I am like going crazy! Anyway, where are you staying for PIR? I am sure I will be seeing you at PIR since we are probably going to be sitting in the same spot! Anyway, hope to hear back from you soon!

Charlene- I am sooo glad that you got a letter today. I did too and so did Mark's younger brother Jonathan. He sounded very upbeat and I can already tell by his letters that he is maturing. Different things have meaning to him now. He says that he misses us very much. My letter was dated Dec. 21. He also told me that he wrote to his older brother Matthew. They are in Michigan right now and won't be back until the 29th so he will have a surprise waiting for him. I have developed a nasty cold and I feel miserable. The letter really lifted my spirits up. No problem about telling me the "cookie" story twice. I think it's funny. Chris probably didn't at the time though. I am a bit afraid to send Christmas pictures because I know it will only make Mark sad. He loves it when our family all gets together. Funny thing, he wants to go to the T-Mobile store when he gets Liberty after graduation. There is a phone that he wants and since he is on my family account, I have to be there. I will take the phone back home with me then mail it back to him when they are allowed to have them at A School. Did you get the Grad Pack yet? You will notice that it says not to bring their cell phones. He also is enjoying the learning to use the 9mm pistols. He seems so confident now where as before he was alot of talk but when it came down to it, he chickened out. I am so proud of him. I am with you on this. I think it is the best decision our boys ever made joining the Navy. My dad and my husband both were Navy men. He was telling his brother Jonathan that when he gets paid, he is going to send him money to buy a new XBox 360. What a special thing to do for him. Jonathan really misses Mark. He was also telling me that when he gets to A School he is going to wear his uniform all the time. No interest in wearing his civilian clothes. What a proud Sailor to be. It will be January before we know it and then we will be packing for our trip to GL's. Yes we already have our flights and hotel reservations. We didn't want to take the chance of not being able to get there or finding a place near base to stay. We are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. That's about 5 miles from base. It has an indoor pool. Mark's request. Lol Somehow I can't see swimming when it's below 0 outside even if it is a heated pool. Oh well...to be young again. Talk to you tomorrow. Have a good night.
