Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Now that my daughter is a boot camp graduate, her schedule is quite full. I loved all of the love letters while she was away in boot camp and will continue to encourage her weekly by sending simple and sometimes silly things. Just have fun and keep it light

Hi Lauren, I really enjoyed meeting you also. Whitney called on Wednesday and she is on hold in Great Lakes until the flight surgeon signs off on her physical. Unfortunately he's been on medical leave for about a month and they don't know when he'll be back so she is stuck there. I havent heard anything more from her.

I have to go to Cincinnati next Sunday and me extend my trip if she is still in Great Lakes so that I can go up and spend the weekend there. That would be so wonderful!!

Has Lauren started A school yet? Sounds like there are a lot of delays getting them going. Welcome to the Navy!

Keep in touch - and have a nice Valentine's Day,
Shirley

Dear Cherie,
So how was your weekend?
I know the ceremony is fantastic !!
Where did you wind up going?
What a shame about your camera, of all the times to be giving you problems! UGH!
You said you used your cell phone? It's better than nothing.

I know seeing Lauren in uniform, is that breathe taking or not!! HAHA!!

Where is she going to go to for A School?

Don't be upset, in case she winds up waiting awhile to start. It's called "Hurry up and Wait", It happens all the time.

Let me get going.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara

Dear Cherie,
Since Laurne's graduation is so close, I'll tell you want to expect.

You do need a car, everything is so far apart.

!) get to graduation early, like 7:30 AM. The security line is very long. If you
drive in, the car line is also lone and the cars get inspected with the hood
and trunk opened.

2) Bring photo ID, camera and tissues

3) Bring a blank check. Lauren will be picking up her Navy pictures, and they
always have us have the honor of paying for them!! UGH!

4) Bring a dark clothe or towel, for sitting. The uniform has to stay spotless.

5) Bring some old clothes of Lauren's. If she has the time to spend in the
hotel room, she can be comfortable in her old clothes.

As for a gift, simple things, like a timex watch, or a simple bracelet. I didn't know that myself, past the watch. When Kim came to visit, she had a bracelet on. Very simple, nothing sparkly. There's not much more you can buy for Lauren, now that she in the Navy.

Once Lauren graduates, she can now have a cell phone or ipod.
Let me know if I can help you about graduation.

Take care and God bless.

Dear Cherie,
Congratulations on Lauren's pending graduation! What date in February?
I enjoy sharing information with that.

Let me get going. I wasn't on the computer last night, so I'm so backlogged.
Take care and God bless.

Dear Cherie,
How are you doing? This Navy for moms is such a blessing/
Many moms helped me though Boot Camp!! HAHa!!

Where is Lauren now in the Navy?

My Kimberly is in Virginia, on the USS Normandy. The ship is docked for a year, so she's doing odd jobs. She was trained to read the radar.

I hope to hear from you again.
Take care and God bless.

Welcome to Navy 4 Moms, this is an exciting website and very informative... We would like to invite you to the Blue Candle Lighting event that occurs in your home anytime you wish to light a candle for your recruit sailor or the military in general. This is done to honor their service during the holidays, birthdays, special events or if you just want to. The Home for the Holidays/Blue Candle Moms also ask you join us in this group. This event and group has no special connections to "any one group" We are all Navy Moms, Wives, and we became Blue Candle Moms.... this included everyone on this website. Please come join us and share your stories and your lightings and your holidays with your child...this was done because some moms were not having their sailors home, and we are support group that can share feelings and fears. Annouce your child is coming home or the despair of knowing on certain holidays it is your sailor we light the candles for. To honor them for the service in the past present and future. To honor those that gave the Ultimate Sacrifice for our freedom. We celebrate the freedom to be Blue Candle Moms and the freedom to light our candles anytime we choose. Please think about our group and the Event and when responding tell where you lit your candle, and the reasons for your paticular lighting. the event will continue and once you rsvp come in anytime and update your lightings
