My son Rick :)
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted, An officer, Overseas
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Said “No way!”
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
As a new Navy Mom when he first went in, is support the your child.. I was very nervous and he was in Japan for his frist tour.. I thought it would never end.. I spoke to him then, now I cannot.. only once in awhile.. So, always back your child it encourages them more..
I found this in the Prayer Wall and wanted to add it.. I found to be a great reminder for myself and anyone who views my page.. Keep these in mind on a daily basis..

I received this via email today and wanted to share it:
Daily Rules from God for 2009

1. Wake Up!! Decide to have a good day. "Today is the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalms 118:24

2. Dress Up!! The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance; but the Lord looks at the heart." I Samuel 16:7

3. Shut Up!! Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. "He who guards his lips guards his soul." Proverbs 13:3

4. Stand Up!!... For what you believe in. Stand for something or you will fall for anything.. "Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good..." Galatians 6:9-10

5. Look Up!!... To the Lord.
"I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

6. Reach Up!!... For something higher. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, And He will direct your path."
Proverbs 3:5-6

7. Lift Up!!... Your Prayers. “Do not worry about anything; instead PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING." Philippians 4:6

Send this to the people you care about. I thought this was mighty special, just like you. Pass this on and brighten someone's day, and remember: God answers Knee-Mail.

May God bless you all!!!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger

Dear Cheryl, I'm so missing you! I hope you're well and finding some rest in your busy schedule...enjoying those boys? Anyhow, I must confess I have missed the group and I will be back as the Holy Spirit leads and guides me. I hope to hear from you soon. How was your visit with your son? Take good care of yourself and drop me a line when you can. Hugs, love & prayers, Beverly

Yes, I pray everyday for not only my son, but all the service personnel all over the world.

Having a child so far from home is very, very hard. There are things that you can do to help with the missing them, but that doesn't take away the hurt you feel not being able to see them.

GOD is FAITHFUL!!! I did find the song "You Reign" on God tube and sent it out to all on my email list. You might be able to send it directely from their site...I'm not sure how to do it, but I think it can be done. I also sent out your rules from 2009, I thought that was too good not to share!
Blessings!

Hello Maria -Jo
Just jumped on today.. I have been working many hours.. I am getting ready to make a move again soon, hopefully this will be about a 2 year move then purchase.. :) This temporary stuff needs to end.. I read a comment in Navypraymoms that I really apprecitated.. I thank everyone for making the group possible. I am not always here and the group just keeps praying.. :) THANK GOD!! I have to say my sailor will hopefully coming home soon.. I am so excited about that .. I have missed him much.. I have been working 2 jobs just to pass the time.. and I am currently also helping an elderly man with grocery , etc..So. hopefully all will continue to be well. I want to thank everyone for the Greetings throughout christmas , and new year.. I was wondering what everyone is thinking about the inaguaration today? I cannot belive the turnout! Personaly I would not have wanted to be there.. It seemed like if there was ever an emergency the risk was high that nobody would reach you in time or anything .. The crowd was just crazy.. I was like okay I dont mind crowds, but that looks scary.. lol I know the lord is in charge so I must keep that thought for the upcoming next four years. I hope his wife plays an active role and helps the woman of this country with work and helping them have the resourses for becoming independent if they had to..
Well Hope to hear back.
Respectfully;

Cheryl USN MOM

I am so curious. My hubby calls it 'nosy'! I was wondering why you can't talk to your son very often? I hope you'll email me if you'd like a freedom wrap sent to you to send to him. It is in honor of their service to our country. Would he like one camo? or flag colors? and they ARE free of charge, you and your son have paid that cost many many times over.
let me know if this is something you're interested in doing. email me for my address to send a 2 stamps, self addressed envelope. (it helps me so much to have them addressed and stamped, sorta takes some of this off my hands, all I have to do is acquire material (lots is given to me) and sew it up! I've been doing several a day but am just getting back to sending them out in the mail. We lost everything we owned except what we could put in our truck because Ike hit our area hard. We are only 13 miles from t he gulf and only 50 miles from Galveston. Anway, we are very lucky because we have walls and roof and the rest will come. I am a handy person around our house and have put in sinks, tubs, and faucets... all by my lonesome! good thing too because
We don't even have a hot water heater anymore!! Well, enough of me, could you tell me a bit about you? Is there anything that we can do for you or your sailor? How neat that he's been in for so long....it would make a good retirement before too many more years!!
Hugs and prayers for the safe homecoming of all our soldiers/sailors.
Colleen (sister of Brenda Sue the Magnificient) she really is....
