Hi Chris, I just got back from spending xmas & new years in Gtmo with my daughter. What a wonderful experience for me and her. Your son will recieve a 600 min phone card the best I can remember. They are able to make calls but be prepared the lines are absolutely aweful. All calls are monitored and recorded and they really cant share much about whats going on there. If your son wasnt sent to Gulfport or Ft Lewis, then the odds are he wont be in a prison camp. Melissa's husband is also an MA and was there for the same time as me. As small as the base is lol we could never connect over there. We would be at the same place & same time and not even no it lol. He could be assigned anything but I would guess he would be on patrol like police. They enforce the speed limit (25 mph everywhere!) no stop lights lol. They follow up for underage drinking, noise disturbance...the usual. Long hours and unusual schedules so be prepared. The internet is your best bet skype or yahoo IM. Give him a few days to settle in, he will know your schedule and I live in Texas and they are 1 hour ahead of me so maybe 2 for you. My daughter has been there since Aug and works with a couple of the other moms sons in camps but has been with them since training in Gulfport last July. Dont worry, lot to do just a small place to be placed in. He will have to adjust and it will be whatever he chooses to make of it. Please feel free to write anytime, not sure if I will have the answers but it sure helps to have the group. They have been a God send for me and I wouldnt have survived without them. God Bless and good luck.

Hey Chris!
Glad you joined us on the Div 422 and 423 group. I know they are "brothers" and do everything together. It sure has been hard to find moms in these divisions!!!

Hi Chris and welcome! My son is in Div 422 and they do a lot with 423. Is your son a grad and go too? My son was told he will have an hour and 1/2 with us and then off to the airport so we will go there and maybe get to spend some extra time with him. What is your son going to do in the Navy?

Dear Chris,
I have been hearing that a lot lately, "Grad and Go". Again, I'm sorry to hear that. At least you can be with Christopher for 2 hours, it better than nothing at all. I have heard some moms say their child had to rush off right after graduation.

Wait until you see Christopher in his uniform...it'll take your breathe away!!! He's going to be so handsome!!!

Let me get going.
Please stay in touch.
Take care and God bless.
