Thanks Lisa! She said she was quite shaken up but they were fine. My grandbaby's Dad was on base but not nearby thankfully! He was just stuck on base due to the lock down.

I agree with KYmom.. that is what my son said and he got his 3rd choice and was top in class. So he was very upset. He thinks it is really just based off of where they need them. But we really don't know anything for certain.
My thoughts and prayers are with all those down in Ft. Hood and their friends and family. My daughter is down there but luckily not on base.
Is anyone going to the Love Box on Sat that lives anywhere near Highlands Ranch? I have 4 boxes and a large shoppin bag full of stuff for Adopt-A-Sailor and I was hoping someone south would be going Sat and could take the items. Let me know! Thanks!

But depending upon how they assign him how much sea time he will get combined with his time left on contract and if he is strictly assigned to a ship or assigned to SGOT. I am assuming they assign some strictly to a ship and not SGOT - from some different things that have been said.
Mine was put to a ship and went out with it on all the trials for a couple of month's and then deployed with it. Now it is dry docked and he has went out with another ship for a bout 4 days but that has been it.
So depending upon how it falls when he gets to that point. LOL..
But they say AG's spend 60% of their time on ship.

I placed a discussion out there a while back, but with summer and busy schedules there weren’t too many responses. With that in mind, I am going to invite all who are interested to my home and we’ll BBQ and pack boxes and just catch up on our Sailors. Molly’s Adopt-A-Sailors have adopted the USS CROMMELIN. The USS Crommelin is a frigate and the home to 252 of our sailors. They are based out of Hawaii and are currently on deployment. There are 250 males and 2 females aboard.
And, not only are they happy about us adopting them, they are ecstatic!
They will be half-way through deployment about mid-September, so we are going to help them celebrate with a HAWAIIAN LUAU. Let’s show our Colorado Love.

I'm rarely on the NFM site but found another new group to join "Aviation Rescue Swimmers". Matt left GL last Tuesday to go to Pensacola FL for his next bit of training. More intense training in the water and jumping out of helicopters. He received his orders a few weeks ago. After Pensacola, he will be stationed in San Diego as his land address but will be assigned to the USS Nimitz for a total of 3 years - I think 6 months at a time. I'm just amazed at the things he is learning.
How are you and where is Nick? How is he doing?
