Wow you are a wealth of information!!! Thanks soooo much. Not knowing for me is the hardest so you have helped me immensly. It sounds like an intricate job which I hope my son will do well at. I can't say he is the most patient when it comes to tedious jobs but I guess we will see. It is so hard to know what job will best suit someone. His recruiter told him this would be best for him so I
pray he is right. It sounds like your son is in a beautiful place. I agree with you on the navy for moms website it has only been two weeks and I dont know what I would do without it. God Bless our Veterans and our Sailors!!!!

My son is in BC with a PIR of 12/18 and then headed to Pensacola for Parachute Rigger A School. I would love any info on being a Parachute rigger you could give as I can't seem to find too much on the internet about it. Thanks so much

Cynthia Blackwell said… - Hi Chris, I am glad you messaged me. Ye it is so tough to be away from your son. I can't begin to tell you that it gets easier, as so many people will tell you that. It just feels so different. You will be so proud when you see Scott graduate from BC. It's a whole new world for them and us too! Anytime you would like to talk I would be sooo happy to chat with you, as I am going through the whole empty nest thing myself. My son Terry is on the USS Theodore Roosevelt and I hear from him, but it's not enough for me. :)
He works on the flight deck and has very long hours, but he does get to see lots of action. As I understand it, there will be a visit by Harry from the CBS Early morning show. He will be there on Friday, so I have to make sure I am up to see that. I am happy that he has chosen a life away from some of the people that he was around when we lived in Orlando. I really did have a big influence on his decision. He wanted to make me proud. I have only lived here in Wake Forest for 3 months now. I have a daughter that still lives in Orlando and I moved here to live with my sister and be closer to Norfolk when that ship comes back. I have already been back to Orlando twice to visit with my daughter, so I am running the roads. I work here from the house, so if you would like to talk, please feel free to let me know. Do you mind if I add you as my friend?
