Hi everyone, I've not been on, and see some new names. I was wondering if anyone had christmas gift ideas since they have such limited space?

Hi Everyone, my son just called today and said they are moving back into their old quarters. He mentioned Pake, so it's possible the kids know each other.At least I know he's in good company!!!

Marianne/KT's Mom said… - Katie joined 10/8/08 and arrived in Japan the end of April. She is doing fine, from the last time we talked Monday, August 24th. That was only the 3rd call all summer. Usually I hear pretty regularly from her via e-mail, but I haven't had one since 23rd. Just a little concerned...or at least wondering what's up! I'm about ready to contact the Ombudsman (or?) to see if the internet has been down (but I know others have rec'd e-mails)...or if there's anyway I can find out. Katie mentioned she hadn't gotten her laptop out since back in port, but she is on duty in the ship just about everyday, so she said she uses the ship computer and checks her navy.mil e-mail address. Heard from your son lately?

- Wish I could help you with your picture question, but I only know how to do it from 'my pics' on my computer. I certainly wish I had some incite on how you could copy it from the facebook to N4Ms. It is always to see the other sailors faces. How do you go on-line? at work? Library? Will you be able to visit your son, or him come home, when he heads back to Pensacola for training?

- Katie said if he's in the galley, she think she's seen your son. So he's headed back to Pensacola for training? Then will he be back on the Essex? Katie will be having watch on the empty ship while the contractors are on board the next 2 months.

- Welcome to the USS ESSEX LH D2. My son left to join the ESSEX on May 12th he is an AG aboard the ship. This is my son's first deployment. He had has 20th birthday on the ship. How old is your son?

- Katie was up on the flight deck the other day helping with the washdown. I'll ask her when I e-mail her today if she knows your son. You mentioned 'other duties' not air traffic control....is your son doing his 90 day cranking? Katie was assigned her cranking shortly after she arrived. After a few days in the galley she was switched to officer laundry. Katie only called once since the Essex left in June - she used a ship-to-shore card, or something, that she got from the NEX.
